Chapter 436
Felix was teetering on the edge of fury. "What do you mean?" he demanded. "I've escalated production. This is going to cost me a fortune."
Liam's brow crinkled in confusion. "What's the significant loss? Haven't you already made a substantial profit in the past?" He paused, his gaze narrowing. "And tell me, were those childhood photos of Joseph leaked by your Chamberlain family?"
Felix scoffed, "You're delusional if you believe that woman, Cassie. And how would I, an outsider, have access to those photos?"
Liam fell into a thoughtful silence, his mind drifting to a potential suspect. But remembering Marcus's usual aloofness, he quickly dismissed the idea. "Regardless, with Joseph now in charge, the entire Hernandez family is suspecting me. He'll target me first."
Felix tried to reassure him. "Take it easy. You have your mother, and in due time, her shares will be yours."
Upon ending the call, Felix swiftly dialed another number. "The plan's failed."
"I've underestimated Joseph, Walter's determination, and especially that Cassie," Felix admitted, his eyes narrowing as he recalled his investigation of Cassie. Despite being the CEO of Peace Group, a relative newcomer from a humble background in Madison, she radiated a calm and collected demeanor in front of the cameras, fearlessly confronting the powerful Hernandez family with fierce tenacity.
With Joseph temporarily incapacitated by illness, it was Cassie who had held the fort for the Summers.
Felix found himself comparing Cassie to his own fiancée, Luna. Despite sharing the same father but different mothers, Luna seemed to lack the acumen entirely.
"What's the next move?" he asked.
"I always have a backup plan; it's her time to shine now," came the response.
"I trust you implicitly," Felix assured, his face reflecting deep respect. He was in awe of the masterful strategies, confident that it wouldn't be long before the Chamberlains would become the leading family in Madison. As for the Hernandez clan... their days were numbered.

The following day, Matilda personally delivered the shares to the seaside villa. Upon entering, she found the place deserted except for Rosalind, who was sweeping the floor.
"Where's Joseph? Isn't he here?" Matilda asked.
"Joseph and Cassie went to the nearby grocery store," Rosalind replied, setting aside the broom to greet her.
"Grocery shopping?" Matilda exclaimed in disbelief, unable to fathom her grandson setting foot in a supermarket. "He was just ill the other day. He should be resting at home, not going out."
"Don't worry, Cassie's with him. Joseph seems really uplifted, almost like a whole new person," Rosalind reassured her.
As Rosalind finished speaking, laughter drifted in from outside. Matilda looked through the patio doors to see a young couple walking hand in hand toward the house. Cassie, with her long hair and clad in denim wide-leg pants paired with a black tee and white canvas shoes, looked radiant and clean-cut. By her side, Joseph, in a white tracksuit, carried two shopping bags and wore an enchanting smile, looking every bit the picture of newlywed bliss rather than someone who had recently been sick.
Matilda was completely taken aback. It had been so long since she'd seen Joseph like this, she could hardly remember it.
