Chapter 28 Don't flirt with men in the car.
Cassie immediately sat up straight, her eyes wide open, her lips slightly parted as if she couldn't believe it. "Are you serious?"
"Whether you can win is up to you. Let me see if your skills are as good as you claim," Joseph said, raising an eyebrow as he drove.
"Of course, I'm not just boasting. I can definitely win." Cassie was so excited she could hardly contain herself. "Joey, you're the best."
She often called him "Joey," sometimes gently, sometimes flatteringly, but this was the first time she sounded so genuinely happy, with a hint of sweetness even she didn't notice.
Joseph glanced at her. "If you think I'm so great, make something delicious when we get back."
"No problem. Whatever you want to eat, I'll make it for you," she replied.
Having lived together for so long, Joseph already knew she was a good cook, but he was too proud to ask.
When they reached Emerald Bay's entrance, Cassie said, "Stop here for a moment. I need to buy something."
Seeing the bright sparkle in his eyes, she smiled. Joseph now looked like a kitten waiting to be fed, quite adorable.
Watching her walk towards the butcher shop, Joseph, in a good mood, took out his phone and called Noah. "Give a heads-up to let Cassie from CZ Decoration Company participate in the bidding for the Silverwood Science and Culture Center Hall."
Noah was very surprised. "What kind of crappy company is CZ Decoration Company? I've never heard of it. Are you actually helping Cassie? That's not like you."
"What am I like?"
Noah thought to himself, 'You're known for being cold and ruthless.'
Noah said, "I know the head of the center pretty well. I can put in a good word to help CZ Decoration Company get the project. Big companies like Height Architectural Decoration Company are also bidding, so the competition is tough."
Joseph repied, "No need. If she can't get it, it's because she's not capable enough. Just ensure fair competition."
Noah sighed, realizing Joseph was ruthless even to his wife. "Alright, I'll do as you say."
Five minutes later, Cassie came up with some beef. He casually said, "I've already put in a good word for you."
Cassie was momentarily stunned, thinking money and power really make a difference.
"Thank you," she said sincerely.
Joseph smiled. "Go back and make some barbecue."
Cassie pretended to be surprised. "I never said I was going to make barbecue."
Seeing Joseph's face turn sullen, Cassie smiled. "I'm just kidding."
"Cassie," Joseph gritted his teeth, cursing inwardly that she dared to tease him.
Realizing Joseph was angry, Cassie quickly said playfully, "You should openly say what you like to eat."
Joseph was frustrated.
Cassie smiled and asked, "Do you know what I like to eat?"
"Cat food," he retorted.
Cassie fell silent.
"I like to eat you the most," Cassie said playfully, lifting her face and starting to flirt.
Joseph glanced at her but said nothing.
