Chapter 1381 We Have Common Interests...
Laura's face went beet red, and she was totally at a loss for words.
Seeing her clamming up, Michael kept going, "Just lie down and chill, I'll keep massaging you."
Laura had been out cold earlier, but now she was wide awake. When Michael touched her foot, she felt super ticklish and jerked away like she'd been zapped. "Stop it, that tickles!"
"Ticklish, huh? Alright, I'll move to another spot."
Michael's hands slid up to her calf.
"Quit it, let go." Laura giggled and squirmed, not realizing how sultry she sounded, especially since they were on the bed.
Michael felt a rush of desire.
He thought Laura was trying to seduce him.
He was just massaging her calf; did she really need to react like that?
Michael was, after all, a regular guy.
A regular guy would totally want to get it on at this point.
After all, the woman on the bed was his wife, not some random chick.
"Alright, I'll switch to another spot." Michael was getting restless.
Laura's eyes went wide with disbelief, and she felt a sudden rush of emotion.
"Michael." Before she could finish, Michael kissed her straight on the lips.
It wasn't like they hadn't kissed before, but that was ages ago.
Michael had almost forgotten what it felt like—until now.
He suddenly remembered. She had reapplied her lipstick after lunch.
It was sweet and fragrant, like jelly.
Michael finally got why Lucas had one woman after another, and why Joseph was always chasing after beauty.
Who wouldn't like this?
Michael had been such an idiot before.
He had this amazing woman right next to him and hadn't even touched her.
Laura was stunned by Michael's passionate kiss.
When she snapped out of it, she was both pissed and embarrassed.
Michael was so shameless.
She angrily pushed him away.
But they were on the bed; how could she be a match for Michael?
Plus, with Maeve lying next to them, she didn't dare to resist too strongly, which only made Michael more aggressive.
Her initial embarrassment turned into a strange feeling that spread through her heart.
Laura felt a bit panicked and at a loss.
Although she had gotten pregnant that one time she and Michael were drunk, she had forgotten many details.
She was actually quite conservative by nature.
Laura had rarely been this close with a guy.
Of course, she had almost hooked up with Benjamin a few times before, but that was years ago, and she had nearly forgotten about it.
Even if Laura was slow on the uptake, she could sense Michael's change.
Her face turned bright red in disbelief.
In a burst of impulse, Laura kicked up.
Michael yelped, waking Maeve up.
Maeve woke up and immediately started bawling.
Laura panicked and quickly got up to hold Maeve.
Her clothes were all messed up, but Maeve soon calmed down after breastfeeding.
Michael stood by watching. Normally, she could pretend to ignore him, but now her face was burning, and she could only glare at Michael. "Can you get out?"
"I'm in pain. If something happens to my junk, you're gonna have to take responsibility." Michael's handsome face was twisted in pain, but his eyes were glued to Maeve's little mouth with envy.
"Looking at you, there's no way your junk has any problems."
Laura shot him an angry glare.
"Don't worry, for your sake, I'll make sure my junk stays in top shape." Michael glanced meaningfully at her swollen lips.
Some things, once started, become addictive. Michael was now in that state.
Laura was freaked out. She felt like she was being watched by a hungry wolf with bad intentions, but she had no choice; Maeve was still there.
So after the baby was fed, Laura quickly tidied herself up and decided not to take a nap.
Since Laura wasn't sleeping, Michael stayed on her bed with Maeve.
It was his first time lying in the room where she had grown up, filled with her scent, and the sheets were pink.
"I realize we actually like the same colors." Michael lay on her pillow, smiling. "I like pink too. Hey, your blanket is orange; I like that too. I just like bright, vibrant, or pink colors."
"You're a grown man and you're proud of liking these colors?" Laura's mouth twitched.
Michael chuckled, "Who says men can only like cool colors? Don't some women like black and white? Besides, it shows we have common interests. As a couple, the worst thing is having no common interests."
Laura was exasperated and afraid that if this continued, he would kiss her again, so she turned and slipped out.
Until evening, Rose asked Laura to call him for dinner and check if Maeve was awake.
When she went upstairs, she saw Maeve playing in the crib.
Michael was standing by her bookshelf, holding a comic book.
She didn't notice at first, but when she walked over and saw the provocative images in the comic, she felt extremely embarrassed.
She had forgotten that in her youth, she had bought some racy comics and hidden them in the most inconspicuous corner of the top shelf, even wrapping the covers.
She hadn't expected Michael to find them.
"Didn't know you liked this stuff." Michael looked at her playfully. "And you call me dirty; you're no better."
She was going crazy.
Michael watched her face redden, increasingly amused. "See? We have similar tastes."
"Shut up," Laura was extremely embarrassed.
"Is this really that embarrassing?" Michael found her flustered reaction quite cute. "This book is pretty good."
"If you like it, read it all you want." Laura forced a smile that was worse than crying, snatched the book from him, and quickly stuffed it into a drawer. "Rose called you for dinner. Hurry up."
She picked up Maeve and walked downstairs.
Michael followed, whispering in her ear, "Don't let those books go to waste. You need a practice partner, and I'm up for it. I just picked up a few new moves."
"Get lost." Laura kicked him in the calf.
Michael winced in pain. Women could be really ruthless.
