"Can you deny that the video wasn't released from your place?" The officer asked sharply. "Because of that video, the public believes Mr. Jude condones his family abusing their power. When the situation escalated, you stayed silent, letting netizens insult the Jude family, effectively endorsing their words. You even had someone anonymously claim that Laura was secretly retaliating against the Hayes Group. That ID address traces back to your company."
Benjamin admitted he had tacitly approved and supported the netizens' insults, but he had never spoken anonymously. He instinctively looked at Isla.
Isla shivered and tearfully looked at the officer. "We didn't do it. It's a false accusation."
The officer sneered. "So, you're saying we're slandering you?"
"That's not what she meant," Benjamin hurriedly explained.
"Take him away." The two officers led Benjamin out.
"Benjamin," Abigail cried out in desperation, "What should we do now? Bryan, we must get Benjamin out."
Bryan clenched his fists. "How can we? Who would dare offend the Jude family now? Isla, what the hell are you doing? Why didn't you stop Benjamin from doing this?"
Isla was pale with fear. Not only did she not stop him, but she also instigated the whole thing. She couldn't stand seeing Laura become Carl's goddaughter. She thought if Carl's reputation were ruined, Laura wouldn't have a good life.
"Let's go and beg Laura," Bryan sighed after a long pause.
"Should we take Isla to apologize?" Abigail asked tentatively.
"Of course not. What she could do is cling to Laura and not let her go!" Bryan angrily waved his hands and left.
Abigail followed him out of the office and said, "You were a bit harsh earlier. I know you're mad at Isla, but if the Hayes Group really goes under, Benjamin will have to rely on the Tarro family in the future."
