Chapter 42 I only want to flatter you

She had a lot to buy and also planned to get some yogurt, fresh milk, fruits, and snacks.

After making a round, she found she had already filled a cart. With so many things, she definitely couldn't carry them all.

She thought for a moment and sent Joseph a message: [Joey, I bought a lot of stuff, and I might not be able to carry it all. Can you help me?]

After sending the message, there was no response for a long time.

She sighed, knowing she shouldn't have such unrealistic expectations because Joseph was far from being "considerate."

Just as she was thinking this, a shadow suddenly loomed over her. She looked up to see Joseph standing in front of her. He had taken off his jacket and was now wearing a cream-colored sweater, looking refined and elegant.

Cassie was a bit dizzy.

Joseph was used to women staring at him in a daze since he was a child. Surprisingly, he didn't find Cassie's gaze annoying. On the contrary, he felt quite good about it. "I just asked you to buy some ingredients, and you bought this much?"

Cassie immediately remembered his frugal and low-key nature and quickly explained, "I thought you and Dakota might not have had a proper meal these past few days, so I wanted to buy more."

Joseph raised his hand to interrupt her, frowning, "I have a good appetite. It's Dakota. Don't drag me into this. I'm not picky."

Cassie pondered, 'Are you sure? Can you please stop drooling over the ingredients?'

"Yeah, Dakota didn't eat well," Cassie nodded, explaining, "I bought some essentials like yogurt, fresh milk, and fruits. These are nutritious and necessary for daily consumption. Don't be fooled by your current good health. You work hard every day and sometimes have to drink at social events. You need to pay more attention to your health and eat properly when you get home."

Joseph was slightly taken aback, a complex expression flashing in his eyes.

In the past, very few people cared about his eating habits. Most were more concerned about whether he could bring benefits to the Hernandez family and meet their expectations.

Cassie continued, "I also bought some seasonings and pasta for cooking. If you get hungry after working late, I can cook for you. We're also running low on toilet paper and cleaning cloths."

At that moment, Joseph had the illusion that Cassie was really his wife, managing his home meticulously.

"Oh, right." Cassie pointed to a tissue box. "This is for your car, so you don't have to use the free tissues from the gas station. These are soft and affordable."

"When did I ever use the free tissues from the gas station?"

"In your car, they've always been there." Not wanting to hurt his pride, Cassie pretended to admire him, "But it's okay. I like how you're so capable yet still frugal. You're the first man I've seen who's so good at managing daily life. You're a role model among men, so charming."
Caught off guard by the sudden praise, Joseph looked down at her, seeing her watery eyes looking up at him, reminiscent of their first meeting.

Compared to her lifeless demeanor from a few days ago, her thick-skinned attitude now made him feel more comfortable.

"Hurry up and pay," Joseph said, turning and walking ahead. Cassie didn't notice the slight smile on his lips.

As they approached the checkout, a salesperson promoting a brand enthusiastically stopped them. "Excuse me, would you like to buy some condoms? We're having a buy-one-get-one-free promotion that's very affordable."
