Chapter 1215 She Was the Old Isabella

Joseph, being pretty bold, put his arm around Cassie's shoulder. "No big deal. They'll do the same when they grow up."

"Who'd want to do that, you creep," Sophia huffed.

Oliver grumbled, "The Hernandez Group's about to go under, and you're just chilling?"

Joseph shrugged, "Then why are you still watching?"

Sophia asked weakly, "If the Hernandez Group goes bankrupt, will I still get candy?"

Oliver rolled his eyes. "Don't worry. Even if it goes under, I'll start my own business and make tons of money for you to spend."

"That's good," Sophia said, lifting her cute chubby face.

Seeing this, Cassie and Joseph, who had been feeling down, laughed.

Being a kid was great—no worries.

But everyone started as a kid. Demands just grew over time.

Cassie and Joseph suddenly felt more at ease.

"Let's go, time for bed," Joseph said, hoisting Sophia onto his shoulders.

Cassie watched with a gentle gaze.

She had felt a heavy weight on her heart, but now she felt much better.

Even if she had to see Declan tomorrow, she felt more relaxed.

She'd do her best, even if she failed.

She didn't tell Joseph about it, partly because she feared he'd get jealous and partly because she knew he wouldn't want her to beg for help; he had his pride.

The next afternoon, Cassie drove to the foreign bank Everett had mentioned.

She waited in the lobby for a long time before spotting a group of executives surrounding a man in a black suit, looking like an older Everett.

His presence was strong. Cassie had met many important people, but none had ever made her feel this pressured.

Of course, someone like him would be cautious and hard to approach.

But she had to try.

As the executives were about to escort Declan out, a car with bulletproof windows pulled up.

Cassie bit her lip and boldly walked over. "Mr. Wittelsbach."

Just as Declan was about to get in the car, he heard a voice.

He thought it was one of the bank executives, but when he turned around, his eyes widened, and he froze for a few seconds.

Cassie, who had just walked out of the bank, looked like she was in her twenties, wearing a pale yellow knit sweater and an A-line skirt. She exuded a clean and elegant aura, with a perfect figure and a stunning face.

Declan had seen many beautiful women, but only one had ever moved him—Isabella, who had a wild beauty.

The young woman in front of him reminded him of the old Isabella.

He thought, 'So similar—those lips, that nose. The eyes are different, but the light in them is just like Isabella's.'

He felt a strange sense of déjà vu, like he was meeting Isabella from twenty years ago.

The executives, noticing Declan's reaction, assumed he was captivated by Cassie's beauty and stepped aside.

They even gave Cassie a once-over, clearly impressed. She was indeed stunning.

Cassie didn't notice their stares. Seizing the moment, she walked over. "Hello, Mr. Wittelsbach. I'm a friend of Everett's. Can we talk privately for a moment?"

Declan quickly regained his composure.

He frowned slightly and glanced at the executives.

"Mr. Wittelsbach, we'll head upstairs," they said, tactfully leaving.

Declan placed one hand on the car door and the other in his pocket, looking like a top international model. His eyes, however, held a deep, unfathomable darkness, exerting an invisible pressure.

Cassie felt very nervous, even breaking out in a slight cold sweat. "I'm sorry, Mr. Wittelsbach, for the sudden interruption. My name is Cassie. I'm here today for the Hernandez Group."

"Cassie." A flicker of surprise flashed in Declan's eyes.

The woman in front of him was the same Cassie that Olivia had described as a wicked woman and Isabella's malicious niece.

No wonder she looked so much like Isabella.

This Cassie resembled Isabella even more than Olivia, and he could tell she was completely natural. Such a young and stunning beauty; no wonder Everett had spoken up for her recently and even brought her to him.

It seemed she had both looks and cunning.

"What is your relationship with Everett?" Declan asked coldly.

Cassie explained, "We're friends."

"Friends?" Declan sneered. "Forgive me, but I don't believe you just see him as a friend. Otherwise, why would you be standing in front of me?"

Cassie was taken aback, realizing he had misunderstood. Feeling a bit awkward, she pressed on, "When I met him, I didn't know his identity. I purely see him as a younger brother. I'm already married and have children."

Declan had already investigated these matters but was still surprised by her candidness. "Frequent contact between non-blood-related siblings is often the beginning of an affair."

Cassie felt helpless. They hadn't even gotten to the main topic, and Declan was already making it seem like she was scheming to get close to Everett for money.

Did all rich people have this problem?

"It depends on the person. Many people are like that, but I can't avoid having male friends just because I'm a woman. Don't you have female friends?" she retorted.
