Chapter 1390 Corrupted by Joseph

Michael was feeling kinda bummed out by Laura.

But then, he caught a whiff of her fresh-outta-the-shower scent, and bam, his desire was back in full swing.

Big projects and money rankings? Nah, they didn't hold a candle to the woman right in front of him.

"Babe, don't stress. I'll hustle hard to make bank for you. I know you can make your own dough, but you just stash it away."

Michael laid on the charm and leaned in for a kiss.

But before he could, Laura kicked him away, her face all red, "Maeve's watching."

Michael was caught off guard and then saw Maeve staring at him with those big, curious eyes.

He was a bit annoyed. Maeve was cute and all, but couldn't she hit the sack earlier?

"Babe, hang tight. I'll get our little one to sleep," he said, scooping Maeve up and pacing around the room.

But Maeve wasn't having it. After a good half hour, she finally conked out, only for Michael to find Laura had also crashed from exhaustion.

He looked at Laura, feeling all sweet and frustrated. When was he ever gonna get some alone time with her?

Two weeks later, DreamDazzle Beauty Co. finally kicked off.

Before the launch, a bunch of influencers had reviewed DreamDazzle's products, and Bernice's fame had stirred up some buzz, giving it a bit of a boost.

On launch day, the area in front of the company was decked out with flowers from all sorts of industries. Michael's cosmetics group, Ocean Blue Group, even reposted DreamDazzle's official announcement to give them a shoutout: [Big congrats on the official launch of DreamDazzle Beauty Co.'s makeup brand.] The Jude Group, the Hernandez Group, the Peace Group, and Bernice's Facebook also gave it a repost.

Some companies that were tight with these groups followed suit to get in their good books.

This quickly caught the eye of industry insiders, and soon, the three founders of DreamDazzle—Laura, Bernice, and Cassie—were in the spotlight.

These three were already hot topics. Laura was the princess of Madison, hailed as the world's most promising formulator, with several of her cosmetics being global hits.

Cassie had just cracked the top ten of the world's youngest second-gen rich list. Word was, Cassie's mom was the richest woman in the world, her stepdad was the world's wealthiest mystery man, and her current beau was the former richest guy, Joseph.

Bernice might not have had the same status as the other two, but she had more fans and way more fame.

When Bernice's fans found out their idol had invested in a new company, millions of them swarmed the website to buy products.

Seeing the new products flying off the shelves, Bernice quickly posted on Facebook:

[These are DreamDazzle Beauty Co.'s new products, and stock is limited. I hope my fans buy them smartly. Don't blow your cash just to support me. I believe in my products and hope fans can let others try them too, so more people can see how awesome DreamDazzle is. And I hope everyone who buys DreamDazzle products in the future does it 'cause they genuinely think they're great.]

The post got tons of positive vibes.

[Bernice is such a real one. So many celebs just start companies to milk their fans. I used to be meh about her, but now I'm kinda digging her vibe.]

[Bernice has always been like this. She only backs stuff she's tried herself, and we fans have found her picks to be pretty solid.]

[I'm feeling Bernice's confidence in these products. They gotta be good. I heard Laura's team developed them. I've used her stuff before, and it was fire. I'm definitely placing an order.]

[Laura's good with cosmetics, but makeup? Not so sure. I'm a bit skeptical.]

[Whatever, it's not pricey. I'll give it a shot.]

The online chatter was lit, and to everyone's surprise, the company's stock sold out on day one.

In the office, Brynn, the secretary, said, "Our products are legit. Once people try them and see how good they are, our rep will skyrocket. We gotta push the factory to crank up production and get our stores into major malls ASAP."

"I wanted to take it slow," Laura sighed. "I'm worried that growing too fast will bring in competition, and I don't want to rely on our identities for recognition."

Cassie grinned, "There are ups and downs. But if you've got competitors, it means your product is killing it."

Bernice, messing with her nails, said nonchalantly, "I didn't plan to post anything, but Michael's company reposted DreamDazzle's announcement, making it a big deal. When people found out about us, I had to step up."

"I told him to stay out of my company's business," Laura sighed again.

"Starting a company and having him not show any support wouldn't look good either," Cassie teased with a smirk. "Even the Jude Group reposted it. Maybe you'll have another kid with Michael soon?"

"We're not," Laura blushed.

"Still haven't done the deed?" Cassie looked shocked.

"Enough, not everyone is like you and Joseph, going at it all the time," Laura said awkwardly, especially with Bernice right there. "Cassie, you've been totally shameless lately."

Cassie was speechless. Maybe she had been, but it was all Joseph's fault. "Want me to send you some condoms? Joseph bought way too many last time."

Laura gritted her teeth, "Thanks, but we're good."

Bernice cleared her throat, "You guys chat. I gotta go shoot a commercial."

"See, Bernice is bailing because of you," Laura quickly grabbed Bernice's hand. "Forget it. Want me to set you up with someone? I met some cool people at the Jude family banquet recently."

"No thanks. I'm not looking to get married or date," Bernice said with a faint smile. "I'm good as I am."

"Being single has its perks, but dating's not bad either."

Before Laura could finish, Cassie gave her a knowing look, "Looks like Michael's been treating you well lately."

"He's alright."

Laura mumbled, and suddenly, they heard an employee's voice from outside, "Mr. Jude, Mr. Hernandez, why are you two eavesdropping at the door? Just come in."

The three women went silent.

Outside, there was an awkward pause. Laura rushed to open the door.

Michael quickly stepped back, his handsome face a bit blushed. Behind him stood a calm Joseph, and not far away, Lucas stood with his hands in his pockets, grinning.
