Chapter 1713: Got Married
"Mom, you don't understand anything," Celestia Tovar glared at her mother. "Dad has been pushing Garth and Julia together because of the power and wealth behind Julia. With just the Tovar Manor, the Jude family can never become the Tovar Manor. Look at how glorious the Jude family is now. If Garth marries Julia and she gets pregnant, Garth can take control of the Jude family."
Genevieve opened her mouth, "But she's already married."
"Then she needs to get a divorce," Uriah said firmly. "That Elliott's status will never be accepted by the Jude family. I'll go talk to James."
"You want my son to marry a woman who's been divorced twice?" Genevieve was almost furious.
"What do you know? Once the Jude family is in our hands, Garth can easily discard her." Uriah glared at Genevieve. "Men who achieve great things don't sweat the small stuff."
Genevieve fell silent.
Garth said, "Dad, I'll listen to you."
Whether it's Julia or the Jude family, he wanted them both.
As for whether he would spend his life with Julia, once he married her, it would be up to him.
A sinister look flashed in Garth's eyes.
At ten in the morning.
When Garth accompanied Uriah, James, and Caroline had also just arrived. They were wearing baseball caps and comfortable sportswear. Behind Caroline was a handsome man, but his eyes were clear and innocent, with a mature face but a childlike demeanor.
"Mommy, look, a butterfly!" Michael pointed to the distance, then excitedly ran off to chase the butterfly like a child.
Garth felt a hint of mockery but didn't show it. "James, Caroline, and Michael seem to be doing well."
"Yes," Caroline glanced at Michael's back, her eyes filled with both comfort and helplessness.
Michael's intelligence was like that of a six or seven-year-old, and he would always be that way.
On the bright side, at least he was happy.
On the downside, it broke Caroline's heart to see Michael reduced to this state.
Uriah laughed, "As long as he's happy, that's all that matters. Look how happy Michael is now."
"I think so too," James laughed, putting his hand on Uriah's shoulder. "I lost a game to you last time. Let's have a rematch today."
"Let's talk about the game later," Uriah said with a strange look. "James, we've known each other for decades, and you haven't been very straightforward."
James laughed, "When have I not been straightforward? Tell me clearly."
Uriah glanced at Garth, "I thought we had an old friendship, and since our kids weren't married, I was thinking of a union. But then Julia got married without even telling me."
"Julia got married?" James and Caroline were both stunned. James said, "Don't talk nonsense."
"It's true," Garth said with a bitter smile. "Julia hasn't been feeling well these past few days. I went to bring her some soup this morning and ran into a man who said he was the brother of a socialite from the Miller Group. I looked into it, and the socialite is Laura, Michael's ex-wife. But how did Laura's brother get involved with Julia? I wanted to ask more, but he didn't take me seriously, probably thinking I was just an employee of the Jude family. He even challenged me to look at their marriage certificate."
James and Caroline exchanged a shocked look.
"James, did you not know about this?" Uriah asked.
James didn't know whether to be more shocked or angry.
First, Michael was a handful, and now Julia was causing trouble.
And it was the Miller family again.
Just hearing the name Miller family gave him a headache.
"James, I probably shouldn't say this, but I have to remind you," Uriah said meaningfully. "Isn't the Miller family too ambitious? One daughter is connected to the Presidential Palace, the Miller Group has become very powerful in Whisperlyn City, and now their son is involved with your daughter. Are the Miller family children that outstanding?"
Hearing this, James and Caroline subtly furrowed their brows.
"Uriah, thank you for telling me this. I won't be playing today. I need to find Julia. Please don't spread this around," James said, unable to stay any longer. He quickly had Michael put in the car, and the family left in a hurry.
"Dad, you're amazing," Garth gave Uriah a thumbs-up.
Uriah looked at him, "What do you think the Jude family will do if someone from the Miller Group uses Elliott and Julia's relationship to act arrogantly in Whisperlyn City?"
Garth immediately understood, "Dad, I know what to do."
"Also, find out if there's any negative information about that Elliott."
In the car, Caroline's mind was in chaos. "Honey, do you think Uriah was telling the truth?"
"He wouldn't lie about something like this," James said, trying to control his anger.
When they arrived at the Jude Group, James had someone call Julia over.
"But Julia is busy."
"Busy or not, get her here," James said, slamming the table in anger.
Ten minutes later, Julia arrived. She had heard that James seemed very angry and guessed that Garth had told James and Caroline about the situation.
She didn't expect that as soon as she walked in, James would pick up a book from the table and throw it at her.
Fortunately, Julia was wearing sneakers today and managed to dodge, though she felt a sharp pain below.
"Julia, tell me what's going on with you and Elliott," James asked furiously. "I heard you married Elliott. Is this a joke? You can't be that foolish."
"Yes, I married him," Julia answered coldly.
James walked over and raised his hand to hit her.
Caroline, seeing her daughter's frail body, quickly held her husband's hand. "Calm down, don't hit her."
"You think I want to hit her?" James laughed coldly. "Julia, now that you're the head of the Jude family, you think you're something special? You got married without even telling us. If you want to drive me to my grave, just say so. Do you know your status? You casually married yourself off. Aren't you afraid people are targeting the Jude family? I thought you were smart. Are you brain-dead now, falling for someone like Elliott?"
"Are there no men left in this world? Michael is still hung up on Laura and has become a fool. Now you've married Laura's brother. Derek is dating Laura. Are we just destined to be entangled with the Miller family?"
