Chapter 132
"At five in the afternoon, Joseph Hernandez's car drove into the villa's parking lot.
The housekeeper was shocked to see him return earlier than expected.
It hadn't been long since Hernandez moved in, but his daily routine was predictable—leaving early and coming back late, hardly returning for meals. To him, the house seemed just a place to spend the night.
"Mr. Hernandez, I... I didn't know you'd be back, the dinner isn't prepared yet," she stammered.
"That's fine, don't worry about it," said Hernandez, aware of his unusual early return, but he had a reason: ever since Cassie left the law firm, his motivation for work had plummeted.
He suspected his early return was due to missing Cassie's cooking, longing for a taste he hadn't savored in a while.
But nearly three minutes had passed since his arrival, and she hadn't come down to greet him.
"Where is she? Not around?" He looked around, frowning.
The housekeeper, caught off guard, replied, "She's in your room. She went upstairs and hasn't come down, probably asleep."
Joseph Hernandez raised an eyebrow—his room?
Well, this woman had guts, making herself at home in his room and sleeping in his bed as soon as she arrived. Was she that eager to seduce him?
No sense of propriety. Sure, he had decided to make her his, but that didn't mean they were sharing a room.
Annoyed, Joseph strode upstairs. The door was unlocked, so he pushed it open and entered. As he walked past the suitcase at the side, he noticed a corner of something peeking out amidst the clothes.
Picking it up, he chuckled with amusement. She was certainly well-prepared.
He pocketed the item and approached the bed. There, a woman with jet-black hair sprawled across his own pillow, her fair cheeks flushed with the serene warmth of sleep.
The room was hot, prompting the covers to be pushed down to her chest, revealing a stretch of fair skin along her neck and collarbones. A dainty, pale foot also peeked out from the other side of the bed.
The room felt different—imbued with a tranquil fragrance because of the addition of this woman.
Any trace of displeasure faded from his mind, replaced by a deep intrigue that flickered in the depths of his eyes.

Cassie was deep in slumber, half-aware, when she suddenly felt a nibbling on her lips. It wasn't painful, just annoying.
She tried to push it away to no avail; she could only muster the strength to groggily open her eyes.
First, she saw his thick lashes, slightly drooping as if savoring a delicacy. Then, as his lashes lifted, she found herself staring into a pair of smoldering dark eyes, as if there was a fire burning within them.
Wait a minute...
Why was Joseph Hernandez here?
She jolted awake, instinctively shoving him with force.
Caught off guard, Joseph nearly tumbled off the bed. After regaining his balance, he growled in anger, "Cassie, are you trying to kill me?"
"Why are you suddenly climbing into my bed?" Cassie retorted, her irritation rising.
Honestly, it was too much—returning only to find him in her bed, as if she were the type of woman ready for a romp anytime.
"Your bed?" Joseph let out a derisive scoff. "That's a fine way to turn things around. When did my bed become yours?"
