Chapter 820
"I'm not your honey," Cassie said impatiently. "Joseph, aren't you the CEO? Why are you so idle as to have time to disturb me while I'm playing games."
"I've earned enough money, and now the most important thing is to find a girlfriend," Joseph replied with great conviction. "It's my duty to play games with my girlfriend."
Cassie sighed and rubbed her forehead. "How did you even know my account?"
Cassie remembered that she didn't use her Facebook account name.
"I noticed it when you were playing that day," Joseph said softly, "It was my first time playing a game. I used to think that playing games was a waste of life, but now I understand that playing games with someone you like can also be a romantic thing."
Even though the microphone, Cassie was disgusted by his sweet talk and didn’t know how to respond for a moment.
"What time do you off work in the afternoon? I'll come pick you up," Joseph continued in a gentle voice, trying to entice her.
"I drove myself," Cassie answered.
"I got it. I'll have Nathaniel drop me off, and I'll wait for you at your car."
Finally, Cassie told Joseph the time.
In the afternoon, Cassie grabbed her bag and entered the private elevator.
The elevator stopped at the twenty-fifth floor, where Luna looked at Joseph triumphantly and was about to step in. But Cassie pressed the close door button directly, catching Luna in the middle.
"Cassie, are you trying to murder me?" Luna shouted, caught in a mess.
"You're overthinking it." After pressing the open button again, Cassie pushed Luna out. "Didn't you see the sign outside? It's the chairman's exclusive elevator. What qualifications do you have to ride it?"
Luna sneered. "Aren’t you just relying on Aiden giving you the status of an heir, but now I am the important person responsible for the future development of the Chapman family. You probably don’t know that Grandpa has agreed to let the finance allocate 12 billion to me for the development of the joint venture with the Chamberlain family. You must not have expected us to come back so quickly after you tried so hard to drive my father and me out."
"It's clear that you've been pleasing Grandpa and Grandma in the Chapman family recently. But Luna, you are a child of the Chapman family. Don't be foolish to work for others without benefits. You have to understand that once you're no longer valuable to the Chamberlain family, and Felix, who is fickle, won't want you anymore. Just like before, didn't you cry in the hospital saying that you were dismissed from your position and Felix hit you?"
Cassie sneered and brushed her long hair behind her ears. "Also, in the meeting room this morning, Felix still wanted to flirt with me. If you don't believe it, you can check the surveillance."
After saying that, Cassie released the elevator door button, and the elevator door closed.
Luna's pretty face twisted with anger instantly. She was supposed to be off work, but now she headed straight to the surveillance room, pulled up the video from the meeting room in the morning, and saw Felix really reaching out to touch Cassie's face with a frivolous gesture.
A hint of anger flashed in Luna's eyes.
Luna thought, ‘Felix, you're truly a jerk, a heartless man.’
Meanwhile, Cassie arrived at the parking lot and before she even reached her car, she already saw Joseph leaning against her sports car, wearing white trousers paired with a blue and white striped shirt. His chest pocket held a pair of sunglasses, exuding a chic and stunning aura, especially with those long legs that could rival top international male models.
Cassie stood there for a while, feeling like Joseph seemed to be getting younger and younger. If he said he was twenty-five now, some might actually believe him.
"Cassie!" Joseph called out.
As soon as he saw Cassie coming, Joseph immediately opened the co-driver’s door.
Cassie handed the car key to Joseph and sat inside.
"I can do it myself," she then said.
Joseph leaned so close to Cassie that his body almost enveloped hers, emitting a woody, cool scent of a man with a hint of ambiguity. Cassie looked up a bit unaccustomed.
