""Fine, I'll go,"" she said calmly as she pushed Grandma Brooks outside. She sat with the Robert couple and Arthur at the same table.
After she sat down, she noticed David at another table for the elders. A hint of confusion rose in her heart. Wasn't he a distant relative? And Joseph actually didn't come.
Even Charlotte and Sarah were present. Cassie sneered inwardly. Olivia really went through so much trouble just to get on good terms with people who don't like her.
At twelve minutes past twelve, the engagement banquet began. The emcee took the stage to welcome all the relatives and friends and invited Arthur and Olivia to join him.
Olivia was in a red gown, while Arthur wore a black suit. They looked like a perfect couple.
The guests started discussing among themselves.
""I heard that Miss Olivia grew up in a poor area, but I never expected her to have such an elegant and dignified temperament. No wonder Arthur fell in love with her.""
""Absolutely! I heard he was engaged to Cassie last year. But if I were a man, I would choose Olivia too. Character is more important than anything else.""
""Well said!""
Those voices drifted into Cassie's ears, but she acted as if she didn't hear them. She focused on feeding Grandma Brooks.
However, what left her speechless was when Sarah went up on stage to give the engagement ring.
Sarah held the microphone and said, ""Actually, I've known Arthur for seven or eight years, and in my eyes, he's always been an excellent older brother. Many girls in school liked him, but I never saw him be attracted to anyone. I thought no one could move him, but unexpectedly, he fell in love with Olivia. It was love at first sight!""

Arthur's face changed, and Robert quickly signaled to the MC.
The MC hastily said, ""Now let's witness the love story of our two lovebirds. Everyone, please watch the big screen.""
As the romantic music played, the screen displayed a series of photos of Cassie and Arthur together. There were pictures from their childhood, as well as moments when she went abroad to study and he flew across the world to visit her, showing their intimacy.
A stir arose in the banquet hall.
Both families had unpleasant expressions. Robert stood up, slammed the table, and exclaimed, ""What is this? Turn it off immediately!""
