Chapter 1360 I'm Not Getting a Divorce
Laura couldn't believe how wild she got in her sleep.
Michael saw her embarrassed face and smirked, "Hey, I helped you out 'cause you looked super uncomfortable. No need to thank me; it's my job as your hubby. Just wanna say, babe, you've been through a lot."
Laura was fuming. He had sucked on her chest, and now she had to thank him for it?
"Feeling any better now?" Michael asked with a cheeky grin. "If not, I'm down to help again."
"Thanks, I'm good now." Laura yanked the blanket over her face, totally mortified.
"Are you blushing? Didn't see that coming."
Michael kept teasing her, so Laura yelled from under the covers, "Get lost."
"Alright, I'm gonna go hang with Maeve."
Michael's footsteps faded away.
Laura sighed in relief. Even though she wanted to strangle Michael, she had to admit she felt a lot better. She told herself, 'Forget it, why stress? It's just a bite, even if it's in a weird spot.'
Laura blushed and thought, 'Maybe next time I'll just pretend to be asleep, so I won't feel so embarrassed when I wake up. It might be a bit undignified, but it's better than the pain.'
They both knew they had fallen into a routine.
Michael would pretend to ease her discomfort every time she fell asleep. Afterward, Laura pretended not to know, and Michael acted like nothing happened. Gradually, they reached an unspoken agreement.
When Lucas came to visit, he gave Michael a weird look.
"What are you staring at?" Michael felt uneasy under his gaze.
"You seem pretty chipper," Lucas said. "I thought you'd be all grumpy staying in the hospital every day, taking care of the baby and Laura. But you seem pretty happy."
"You'll get it when you have a baby," Michael lied smoothly.
At first, Michael found it exhausting, but after reaching a silent understanding with Laura, he now wished he could stay in the hospital room all the time.
'A baby?' Lucas thought, glancing at Maeve in Michael's arms. He had to admit, the little baby was pretty cute. He brooded, 'Both of my friends are dads now. I'm not into marriage, but maybe it's time to think about passing on my genes. But who’s good enough to have my kid?'
"By the way, are you and Sarah getting hitched or what?" Michael asked curiously.
"Nope, we're not," Lucas said casually. "Laura can leave tomorrow. Make sure to handle the discharge stuff in the morning."
With that, he turned and left the hospital room. Lucas had only swung by on a whim; he still had a ton to do.
Michael's eyes darted around, and he quickly followed, his handsome face turning a bit red. "Lucas, I gotta ask you something, about, you know, that."
"Are you asking when you can have sex?" Lucas cut him off.
"Uh, how'd you know?" Michael awkwardly scratched his nose.
"You've got it written all over your face," Lucas smirked. "But isn't it a bit early to be thinking about that? Are you sure Laura won't divorce you?"
"We have a kid together; I'm not getting a divorce," Michael said, hesitating before looking at him. "So, tell me."
"Two months."
"That long?" Michael looked bummed out.
Lucas was speechless. "Long? I bet you won't be able to have sex with her for at least six months." After dropping that bomb, Lucas left without mercy.
Michael was super frustrated.
The next day.
Laura got discharged.
To make it easier for Rose to take care of Laura, she didn't move back to the Jude family mansion but went to the villa where she and Michael lived.
Rose planned to head back to Silverwood after Laura was fully recovered.
When Laura got back to the villa, she found a bunch of new stuff in her room. A brand-new crib was set up next to her big bed.
When she opened the wardrobe to grab some clothes, she was stunned to see the latest, most beautiful high-end custom clothes inside. Laura thought, 'How is my wardrobe packed with so many gorgeous clothes? Each piece costs a fortune and isn't just something money can buy. There are even sexy, pricey pajamas and lingerie. Who picked these?'
"Do you like them?" Michael suddenly appeared behind her, wearing a pink shirt and looking all smug.
Laura's heart started racing. "Did you buy these?"
"Who else?" Michael casually picked out a piece of clothing. "Aren't these clothes way more beautiful and expensive than the ones you bought at the mall? And these styles aren't available anywhere else in Madison; only you have them." He spoke with a sense of pride.
Laura was indeed excited and thought, 'Everyone loves beautiful clothes, and these are uniquely stunning.'
But she didn't want Michael to feel too proud. "Clothes just need to look good to me. Do you think I'm so vain that I have to chase high-end fashion? And why did you buy larger sizes? Do you look down on me? Do you think I'll always be this fat?"
The more she talked, the more worked up she got. Initially, she just wanted to give him a hard time, but by the end, she believed her own words and glared at him angrily.
Michael was speechless.
"You're not fat," he said, taking a step back. "You look very sexy."
"Go to hell," Laura said, embarrassed. She blushed and ran away. She didn't want to stay with him for another second.
