Chapter 643
The sound of the monitor kept ringing in his ears.
Joseph only heard the crying in his ears. He struggled to open his eyes and saw Megan's tear-stained face.
"Joseph, you're awake." Megan quickly stood up. Michael and Lucas also walked over simultaneously.
Joseph looked at them, and the last scene before he passed out flashed through his mind. Subconsciously, he blurted out, "Where is Cassie?"
Megan's tear-streaked face froze, and Michael angrily said, "How dare you ask about her, Joseph. You lied to Megan about having a business engagement, but you went to see Cassie instead. What were you thinking? The police checked the surveillance footage and said you two had a dispute in the car, crossed the flower bed, and hit the wall. You were driving, and she tried to grab the steering wheel. Did she want you dead? The police will investigate her, and she will face consequences once she recovers."
Joseph pursed his lips tightly. Somehow, the scene before he passed out kept echoing in his mind. Her eyes were deeply imprinted in his mind.
"Joseph," Megan hoarsely called out to him.
He snapped back, "Megan, I'm sorry..."
"Joseph, why did you deceive me?" Tears slid down Megan's cheeks. "Joseph, we've been together for over ten years. If you can't let go of her, then... go back to her."
"Megan, how could you say such things," Michael said angrily, "Honestly, Joseph, you've gone too far. Do you know that when Megan found out about your accident, she was so worried that she almost fainted? She has been taking care of you without eating or drinking, waiting for you for so long. If you disappoint her, I won't let you off the hook."
"Joseph, what did you want with Cassie?" Lucas asked, also stared at him.
"Stop asking him. Let him rest." Megan said, holding Joseph's hand with a pained expression. Joseph felt even more guilty and apologized, "I'm sorry, Megan. I will find a way to divorce her as soon as possible and marry you this year."
"Okay, I'll wait for you." Megan lowered her gaze. The jealousy was driving her crazy. ' Cassie, why do you linger like this, insisting on pushing things to the extreme.' She thought.
For the next three days, Megan stayed by his side without leaving.
On the day of discharge, as Joseph went downstairs, he happened to see Cassie being brought down by two police officers. Their gazes met.
Cassie stared straight at him, asking, "Joseph, do you want me to go to jail?" Joseph was taken aback.
Megan, who had just picked up the medicine, walked over and frowned, explaining, "It's not about wanting you to go to jail. What you did this time was really outrageous. Joseph almost lost his life because of you. Besides, the police are just doing their job. It's illegal to obstruct the safe driving of the driver."
"Why did I obstruct you? Don't you know?" Cassie laughed lightly. Her eyes were so beautiful but showed a sense of indifference.
Joseph frowned. Megan took his arm and said, "Joseph, let's go, ignore her."

"Don't say that," Joseph said, patting her head.
"Joseph, stay away from her in the future. I can't bear the pain of losing you." Megan said uncomfortably.
"I won't." Joseph sighed. After the driver escorted Megan back to the villa, he went straight to the company. These days, he has delayed a lot of work in the hospital.
Just as he got into the car, he received a call from the police, "Mr. Joseph, sorry, the situation has changed. Can you come to the police station?"
