Chapter 743
She frowned, "Did Joseph just come in?"
"Yes, Joseph said he was cold, so I let him in and gave him a blanket," Sophia said drowsily.
Cassie glanced at the distance from the door to the chair and the path, which was more than enough for Joseph to see what was happening in the bathroom, especially since she hadn't even closed half of the door at that time.
Thinking of that scene, she felt instantly embarrassed.
She grabbed Sophia's ear and said angrily, "Why do you care if he's cold? Why would you let him in? Don't you know I'm taking a shower?"
"What's wrong with taking a shower?" Sophia blinked innocently.
Cassie explained helplessly, "Just like how Mom usually teaches you not to let strangers see your body. It's the same reason why I don't want Joseph to see me showering, do you understand?"
"So Joseph saw Mom's body just now?" Sophia asked, seeming to grasp the idea.
Cassie's face turned red all over.
"Mom, your face is so red," Sophia said with a hint of concern.
"Stop," Cassie realized she couldn't continue the conversation with her.
"You haven't told me yet. What would happen if he saw it?" Sophia asked curiously, furrowing her brows. "Is he a bad guy? Should we catch him or tell the police uncle?"
"In any case, it's very bad," Cassie changed the subject with a headache. "By the way, you still haven't told me how you got injured today. Tell me the truth quickly."
"I asked Megan to bathe me, and I deliberately tormented her while bathing, so she pushed me to the ground," Sophia said somewhat happily. "You have no idea how angry Joseph was and how awful Megan looked after Joseph scolded her."
As Sophia spoke, she suddenly noticed Cassie's grim expression. "What's wrong?"
"What's wrong?" Cassie suddenly lifted her little butt and spanked a few times. "Do I need you to help me teach Megan a lesson? How old are you?"
"Mom," Sophia cried in grievance.
Cassie glared at her, her eyes reddening too. "Sophia, you are too naive. Today, you were able to cause trouble for Megan because she doesn't understand you, but you can't understand the terror and malice of adults. It would help if you were grateful that she only pushed you down today. What if one day you never see Mom again?"
Sophia was stunned.
Cassie hugged her again. "I don't need you to seek revenge for me with your injuries. I have my way. I hope you grow healthy. Don't go to Joseph's villa anymore; stay obediently on the estate and go to daycare with Oliver in a few days, okay? Don't you miss Oliver?"
"I do, I miss him," Sophia said hoarsely, holding back tears. "I'm sorry for worrying you, Mom."
"I don't want you to get hurt because I cherish you, so you should cherish yourself too, understand?" Cassie said gently.
"Okay."
Sophia quickly fell asleep in her mother's arms.
Meanwhile, Joseph, wrapped in a blanket, lay on the sofa. He was not only no longer cold, but he was burning up like a volcano all over. Every time he closed his eyes, images of Cassie bathing filled his mind.
His throat moved up and down. That feeling was both unfamiliar and familiar. Even though Megan had been alluring in her attire before, he had never felt this way, but facing Cassie, even just a glance could make him think feverish all over.
Despite having seen her before, whether before or after the divorce, this woman had always held a strong attraction for him.
