Chapter 1740 She Wants a House and a Car

Bernice stared at him.

She couldn't help but think that if Lucas had been this openly awful before, she would've never fallen for him.

"Alright," Bernice bit her lip, "but while we're together, you can't sleep with other women."

"I haven't slept with other women," Lucas smirked, "I don't have the energy to juggle multiple women."

"Also."

"You have more demands?" Lucas was starting to get a bit impatient.

Bernice mocked, "I just said a lot, and you only agreed to one thing. And you didn't even agree for my sake, just because you don't have the energy for multiple women. Mr. Nelson, you're being too harsh on me. I don't even qualify to be your girlfriend. You probably haven't given me any of the perks you gave your previous flings. Am I an idiot to sleep with you and get nothing in return?"

Bernice's retort piqued Lucas's interest a bit more. "Go on."

"Give me money," Bernice extended her hand, "I've been with you for so long, have you ever given me a credit card? When I was with Gary, at least he didn't shortchange me."

"Don't mention Gary to me again." Lucas's eyes turned cold, his face darkened, and his gaze took on a different quality.

Bernice saw it.

He thought she was dirty.

But if he was going to find women in this circle, why would he still despise others? No one could be dirtier than he.

These thoughts, Bernice kept to herself, not daring to confront Lucas head-on.

"If you don't want to give it, then don't," Bernice lay down and wrapped herself in the blanket, "Go out and see if you can find a woman with no money, no house, no car, who will let you sleep with her without any status, especially in the entertainment industry."

Lucas sneered, took a credit card from the drawer, and threw it at her. "There's ten million dollars on it. Satisfied?"

"Ten million dollars?" Bernice scoffed, "I can earn that much from a single endorsement."

Lucas looked at her for a few seconds before saying, "Come to me when you run out of money."

"Fine, but I don't have a house in Whisperlyn City yet," Bernice had just finished speaking when she met Lucas's icy gaze.

"Bernice, are you setting a price now?" Lucas's handsome face was mocking.

Bernice smiled, "Either you publicly acknowledge me as your girlfriend, or satisfy me materially. A house is nothing to you. I heard from the company that when Sarah was with you, she got luxury cars, mansions, villas, and all kinds of resources. Not just Sarah, but also the previous actresses Aurelia Kingsley and Imogen Fairfax."

"You seem to know quite a lot," Lucas's thin lips curved into a smile, "But do you think your skills in bed are better than theirs?"

Bernice reminded him, "Didn't you just say you almost died on me?"

"That's true, you almost killed me, and you still want a house and a car?"

Lucas bent down, staring into her eyes, his tone gentle, "Don't worry, I'm not heartless. As long as you serve me well, I'll give you a house and a car."

Bernice looked at his exquisite and handsome face for a long time before her eyelashes fluttered and she said, "Okay."

After that, they didn't speak again.

Lucas lay in bed, suddenly feeling a bit bored.

Maybe at the beginning, he had forced Bernice. But Bernice was different from those other women.

Especially her eyes and her personality, they were particularly intriguing.

Tonight, his body was satisfied, but in other ways, he felt a bit lacking.

Bernice noticed it too; it seemed this method was quite effective.

It looked like she had to keep trying.

The next day, before dawn, she woke up and secretly went to the bathroom to take a pill.

She returned to bed, and when it was light, she took a deep breath and gathered the courage to reach out to Lucas beside her.

Lucas opened his eyes to see Bernice's charming face and body on top of him.

He quickly woke up, grabbed her waist, and teased, "You're so proactive today?"

"Will you buy me a house?" Bernice hooked her arms around his neck, her once cold face now showing a hint of flattery.

"You want it that badly?" Lucas caressed her slender waist, "You've made quite a bit of money this year, haven't you?"

"Money is hard to earn," Bernice buried her face in his neck, "I don't have the luck of Cassie and Laura to find boyfriends like Joseph and Derek, nor do I have such prominent family backgrounds."

"Are you envious?" Lucas's eyes were deep.

Bernice didn't respond, but her silence was an answer.

"You used to be so proud, I thought you didn't care about those things," Lucas teased as he kissed her.

"Joseph recently gave Cassie a four-thousand-square-foot riverside house," Bernice sighed, not answering directly. "It cost over a hundred million dollars. I've saved some money working in the entertainment industry, but after buying a house, there wouldn't be much left."

Lucas chuckled lightly, looking at her without speaking.

Bernice gritted her teeth, leaned in, and kissed him, her hands wrapping around his neck like vines.

Lucas's eyes darkened.

This morning, Bernice's initiative made him lose control.

They made love for an hour, and when Lucas got up, he felt refreshed.

But Bernice was sore all over.

Fortunately, when she got up, the servants had already prepared breakfast.

As Bernice was about to eat breakfast, Lucas placed a box of pills in front of her. "Take it."

When she saw the words "birth control," she was stunned.

Sometimes Lucas took precautions, and when he didn't, he left it up to her. It was the first time he had brought out the pills himself.

"Why?" Bernice was quite happy, but she had to put on a show.

"Do you want to get pregnant?" Lucas asked with a smile.

"No, I'm in the prime of my career, I don't want to get pregnant, but..."

"Then take it," Lucas said flatly, "I have no intention of becoming a father."

Bernice lowered her eyes and silently took the pill with water.

Halfway through breakfast, Lucas's phone rang. After answering, his face darkened slightly. "Alright, I'll be there soon."

"Did something happen?" Bernice asked deliberately.

"None of your business."

Lucas didn't look at her, and his tone wasn't very good.

Ten minutes later, Lucas changed his clothes and left.

Lucas drove to the hospital. At the entrance of the emergency room, his father, Yancy, was angrily shouting, "I told you not to be so harsh on Sarah. Now she won't even answer her phone. I don't care, you need to bring her here to give your mother a blood transfusion. The doctor said it can't be delayed."
