Chapter 1729 A Suddenly Decided Wedding

Elliott stared at Julia with a serious expression. "Didn't you say you had a dinner engagement tonight?"

"I thought about it and decided not to go," Julia blinked.

"Then you could have called me or ordered takeout," Elliott accused angrily, "At the very least, you could have hired someone to cook or gone back to Whispering Pines Manor. When I'm not here, you just eat instant noodles."

"Too much trouble."

A hint of weariness showed between Julia's delicate brows.

She was genuinely too lazy. After working all day, sometimes having to get up in the middle of the night for video calls with overseas companies, she had very little personal time. On top of that, she had been transitioning work these past few days. Aaron was still too inexperienced, and many things he couldn't handle. She had to teach him step by step, almost to the point of wanting to curse.

When she got home, all she wanted was to take a comfortable bath and rest quietly for a while.

Going to Whispering Pines Manor for dinner? That was even more impossible. If she went back, her parents would nag her.

Outsiders only knew her as a decisive and efficient person in public, but they had no idea how lazy she was in private.

Elliott looked at her expressionlessly for a moment, then turned and walked into the kitchen to start cooking. He fried an egg and boiled some pasta for her.

"Thank you, darling."

Julia hugged Elliott from behind, her post-bath fragrance filling the air. Elliott's grip on the spatula tightened. "From now on, you should come with me to the Miller family for dinner."

"You told your parents?" Julia rarely showed a hint of nervousness. "Did they agree?"

"Yes, I told them I took advantage of you when you were drunk, so I have to take responsibility." Elliott gave her a meaningful look. "I didn't mention that you forced me to get married."

"You did take advantage of me when I was drunk," Julia said softly, "Last time Derek invited you to dinner, after you were full and drunk, you didn't hesitate to humiliate me. My legs were sore for days."

As soon as she mentioned it, Elliott immediately remembered.

"Some people are like that. They satisfy themselves and then turn around to scold women for being promiscuous and seducing them. Elliott, are you particularly good at gaslighting?"

"What's gaslighting?" Elliott's cold face was filled with confusion.

Julia smiled, "Nicely, it means someone very good at pursuing the opposite sex. In a bad way, it means a bad man who tricks women into having sex."

Elliott was silent.

The question was too serious. Elliott was so shocked that he quickly turned around, his handsome face looking grim, "I'm not."

"Don't do that again, or I'll think you are," Julia said seriously, looking up at him. "You see, it's always like this. I do nothing, and you suddenly pounce on me, kissing and touching, then you blame it on me. It's like those bad guys caught by the police who don't reflect on their behavior but blame women for wearing skirts and showing their legs."

Elliott's ears turned slightly red from her words.

One moment he was cooking pasta, the next he was deep in reflection.

That night, as he held her and kissed her in bed, his handsome face suddenly turned red. "Julia, I was wrong before. I wanted to make love to you, but I didn't want to admit I was attracted to you, so I always blamed you. I was wrong."

"Mr. Miller, it's rare for you to be so honest." Julia lay in bed, her hands around his neck, wearing a sexy camisole, her long hair slightly messy on the bed, her face flushed from his kisses.

This scene deeply stimulated Elliott.

Julia quickly noticed and chuckled, "Do you want to make love?"

"It's okay, I'll take a cold shower."

He knew she wasn't fully healed, so Elliott turned to go to the bathroom.

"Don't go."

She pulled him back, "Remember how you helped me when I had my period?"

Elliott's mind suddenly heated up. Of course, he remembered.

No one knew how cold she was in front of others and how passionate she was with him at night.

"Are you willing?"

"Why wouldn't I be? I was willing before we got married, and now that we're married, of course, I'm willing." Julia bit her lip and pulled him back, "Just don't be so rough next time."

"I won't, I swear."

Elliott didn't even notice that under the orange light, his cold face was already red, and his eyes were extremely gentle.

Afterward, he held her tightly and kissed her. His eyes seemed to want to merge her into his chest. After a long while, he said hoarsely, "Julia, whatever kind of wedding you want, I'll give it to you."

Julia was stunned and seriously thought about it, "I want a small wedding, not too many guests, just some family members, or just the two of us. It would be best in a church abroad, something simple."

"Darling, wouldn't that be too unfair to me?" Elliott suddenly frowned, "You've had a grand wedding before, but this is my first time getting married."

Elliott's aggrieved look made Julia burst into laughter, "Sorry, I just think weddings are troublesome and tiring, too complicated. But whatever you want is fine, as long as you're the groom, that's enough for me."

Elliott hugged her tightly, satisfied, "I've decided. We'll get married in the city where we studied abroad, at the church near our school. Do you remember? We went there one summer and happened to see someone else's wedding. At that moment, I had a wish. I wanted to marry you like that."

"I remember."

She had always remembered.

Julia closed her eyes, a smile on her face.

It turned out that some things neither of them had forgotten.

No matter how much time had passed, no matter how their identities had changed from students, what they wanted remained the same.

Some things are done as soon as they're said.

Elliott decided not to sleep and sat up to discuss booking plane tickets with her.

Having agreed on the wedding, Julia was in a great mood the next day.

But the Tovar Family was not in a good mood.

Especially as the Penrose Family's situation worsened, by the morning, James had called Julia to his office, "Was it your idea for Gino Bautista to kick Tobias Tovar out of the project department?"

Tobias was Uriah's nephew and had always held an important position in the Jude Group. Tobias's departure was a significant blow to Garth.

Uriah was so anxious that he went to Whispering Pines Manor early in the morning.

"Dad, Gino's idea is that the Jude Group's tech company's senior management team needs restructuring. After discussions, everyone agreed on this decision," Julia said calmly, "Of course, this has nothing to do with me. I'm leaving, and the company's changes have nothing to do with me."
