Chapter 752
Mabel, who was taken aback, hesitated for a moment, then nodded. The two sons had a strained relationship, and she hoped Sophia could be the bridge between them.
"Alright."
At the daycare entrance.
Joseph arrived before school was over, dressed in a blue shirt and white casual pants, The security guard at the entrance was very respectful to him due to the way he looked.
Although most children attending this school were of affluent backgrounds, a parent with such a strong presence was rare.
"Sir, may I ask which child you are here for?"
"Sophia Brooks," Joseph replied casually.
"She's in the nursery class and is currently engaged in outdoor activities."
The security guard respectfully led him inside. The outdoor activity area was nearby, and it took less than half a minute to reach it.
On the vast outdoor playground, a group of children were happily playing.
Joseph spotted Sophia at a glance. Her pink outfit stood out among the group of girls.
As he was about to approach, he suddenly saw Sophia jump down from the slide and grab the hand of a little boy in a white uniform beside her.
Sophia tugged at the boy's hand, pouting and stomping her feet. "Oliver, won't you play on the seesaw with me?"
"No, I don't want it," the boy replied coolly, his back facing her, looking rather cold.
"No, I want you to play with me," Sophia insisted, refusing to let go of the boy's hand.
Joseph's handsome face darkened. He had noticed that Sophia preferred good-looking boys. He had been concerned about her potentially starting relationships too early, but he hadn't expected her to be holding hands and acting cute with a boy just a few days into daycare.
He made a mental note to have a serious talk with her about maintaining appropriate boundaries from boys.
"Sophia." He strode over.
Both Sophia and Oliver were surprised.
"Uncle Joseph!" Sophia hurried towards Joseph.
Oliver quickly ran off, his small body disappearing into the tunnel of the slide.
Frowning, Joseph asked, "Is that your new friend? Why did he run off as soon as he saw me?"
"He doesn't know you, so he didn't want to say hello." Sophia tilted her head.
"Besides, Uncle Joseph, your sounded too serious just now. It might have scared
him. Why are you here today, Uncle Joseph?"
"Your dad is on a business trip, so I'm here to pick you up. Let's go," Joseph reached out his hand to her.
"Okay, I’ll tell the teacher and get my school bag," Sophia said, bouncing along as she led Joseph to the classroom to take her bag.
When the teacher handed Sophia over to Joseph, her heart was pounding. Joseph was undeniably handsome.
"Miss, how has Sophia been at school?" Joseph suddenly asked. He found Liam to be irresponsible and felt the need to get more information.
"She's been doing great. Sophia is very outgoing. She made friends on her first day, and gets along particularly well with Oliver in her class," the teacher said with a smile.
"Oliver?" Joseph frowned. He couldn't understand why a parent would choose such a name for their child.
"Uncle Joseph, let's go now." Sophia's scalp tingled. She was afraid Joseph might see Oliver, so she immediately took his hand.
"Alright," Joseph said.
After leaving, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Sophia, is Oliver the boy you were holding hands with earlier?" Joseph suddenly asked.
