Chapter 826
"Honey, why is the food you made so tasty?" Joseph exclaimed in delight again. "I want to eat it for a lifetime."
"Well, you had the chance to eat it for a lifetime before, but you drove me away," Cassie scoffed and stood up to collect the plates. "It's late. You should go back."
As she turned around, Joseph embraced her from behind, his hands holding her waist tightly.
"I don't want to go back. I want to stay here even if it means sleeping on the couch," Joseph begged.
"Joseph, I'm not a flighty woman," Cassie said solemnly, "When I slept with you in the past, all I got was your disrespect and birth control pills. This time, I want to love myself more, instead of satisfying you easily."
Joseph fell silent for a moment, realizing how much he had hurt Cassie in the past. He wished he could travel through time into the past and punch himself.
Joseph only cherished after losing.
"Alright, I'll go. But send me a kiss," Joseph pleaded. He turned around stubbornly and planted a kiss on Cassie's pink lips.
At first, Cassie was resistant. But eventually, Joseph held her waist tightly with his long and passionate kiss.
After a kiss, he was pushed out the door, his eyes still filled with unfulfilled desire. He requested, "Honey, can I bring you breakfast tomorrow?"
"Okay," Cassie answered, then closed the door, rushed into the bathroom, and thoroughly brushed her teeth.
Thinking about Joseph had also kissed Megan, Cassie felt disgusted.
Completely different from Cassie, Joseph felt his mouth was sweet as if he had eaten honey.
When Nathaniel came to pick up Joseph, he kept savoring the taste in his mouth, but the time was too short—only five or six minutes. He wished it was longer.
"Mr. Hernandez, you seem to be in a good mood," Nathaniel also noticed and asked, daringly teasing, "like a young man in love."
"Seriously?" Joseph frowned disapprovingly and murmured, "I've always been young."
As a man in love, age was a sensitive topic, especially since Cassie was five or six years younger than Joseph.
"I misspoke," Nathaniel quickly apologized. ''What I meant was... Mr. Hernandez, you seem different now. It's a feeling you didn't have when you were dating Miss Ray."
"You're right," Joseph agreed.
Joseph also realized that he couldn't understand it himself. He remembered that he loved Megan, but being with her didn't make him happy.
Nathaniel considered hinting that Joseph had been hypnotized before. But he recalled the doctor's warning that the attempt to recover the memory might damage Joseph’s brain and potentially make him a fool.
Let it be. At least everything went in a good direction.
It was at this moment that Lucas called Joseph.
"Is the date over? Come over. Let's talk a bit," Lucas said.
Joseph checked the time and agreed. He asked Nathaniel to take him to the bar where Lucas mentioned.
When they arrived, only Lucas was there.
