Chapter 9 Are big bosses all this frugal and low-key now?
She turned back to the kitchen to continue making breakfast.
Joseph grabbed some milk from the fridge. Noticing her skillful movements, a hint of surprise crossed his face.
Their eyes met briefly before he quickly looked away, taking the milk to the dining table to watch the news.
Despite this, Cassie placed the prepared breakfast in front of him, saying, "Drinking cold milk right after exercising can upset your stomach. It's better to have a snack with it."
Then, she enjoyed her breakfast alone.
She ate with gusto and elegance, her beautiful face making her more appealing than popular food influencers.
Joseph found himself feeling hungry.
Just then, Dakota jumped onto the table, wagging its tail.
Joseph guessed it was hungry, so he got up, took some cat food from the cupboard, and poured a bit into a plate in front of Dakota.
Dakota sniffed at it, turned its head away, and looked at Cassie with pleading eyes.
Joseph's face stiffened.
Suppressing a smile, Cassie picked up a small piece of waffle and fed it to Dakota, who eagerly devoured it.
"Good boy," Cassie said, patting Dakota's head, thinking the cat had better taste than its owner.
Joseph felt a bit embarrassed.
At that moment, Cassie quickly stuffed a small piece of waffle into his mouth.
Joseph's eyes showed a hint of annoyance.
"Is it good?" Cassie asked nervously. Despite her confidence in her cooking, she still wanted his approval.
"It's okay," he replied, picking up the remaining waffle on the table and eating it. It tasted better than what he had eaten before.
Cassie teased, "If it's just okay, why are you eating it?"
In the end, Joseph, who claimed not to eat breakfast, ended up eating waffles and then a sandwich.
Joseph didn't expect Cassie's breakfast to be so good, making him think better of her.
As Cassie looked up at him, she softly asked, "Joey, what would you like for dinner tonight? I'll cook for you."
"I have a dinner appointment tonight," he said, heading back to his room to change clothes.
Cassie wasn't upset; she knew it was normal for the president of a multinational company to be busy.
However, no matter how busy he was, they were still a couple.
Cassie quickly changed into a different outfit and waited for him at the door. "Joey, can you give me a ride? I also have to go to work. If it's too much trouble, just drop me at the subway station, please."
Joseph pursed his lips, considering that he had just eaten the breakfast she made, and nodded.
Cassie expected a luxury car but was surprised to see Joseph driving a mid-range vehicle.
"Is this your car?" she asked.
"Yes."
Cassie asked in confusion, "Joey, why did you choose this car?"
"It's affordable and fuel-efficient."
Cassie teased, "You really know how to live within your means. No wonder you're my husband, so outstanding."
She then noticed a pack of cheap tissues on the dashboard, a freebie from a gas station, which left her mind in a whirl.
Cassie was deeply puzzled, thinking, 'Are presidents so frugal nowadays?'
