Chapter 1337 I'm Still Missing a Girlfriend

Joseph's eyes crinkled with a smile as he ruffled Oliver's hair. "You did good, kid. I'll let your mom know so she can give you the props you deserve."

"Nah, don't bother. I don't want her stressing," Oliver shot back quickly.

Isabella watched Oliver, a spark of excitement in her eyes.

Before, Isabella had no clue Cassie was her daughter. Now, she realized Oliver was her grandson. And dang, the kid looked a lot like Cassie, and even a bit like her.

Isabella's eyes got misty as she watched.

The more she thought about it, the more she despised Olivia and her crew.

It was all their fault she was too blind to see her own daughter and grandkids.

She was boiling with anger but didn't dare to step up.

Isabella was scared Oliver might not like her either.

Everett glanced at Isabella, then turned to Oliver with a grin, "Hey Oliver, come here. Guess who I am. I'm your uncle."

Oliver's eyes flicked over Everett, Isabella, and Declan, then he said coldly, "Don't go claiming family ties. I don't have an uncle, and my mom doesn't have any brothers."

Oliver's icy attitude even made Michael give him a thumbs up. He thought, 'Good kid, so proud and aloof. Does he even know the kind of clout the Wittelsbach family has? They're respected everywhere.'

Everett wasn't mad; he was even more intrigued by Oliver. "Man, you're one interesting little dude."

Everett walked up with a smile, trying to pinch Oliver's soft cheeks.

Oliver quickly put up a finger to block his hand. "I really don't like people touching my face."

Not just Everett, but even Declan chuckled.

After a moment, Declan gave Everett a slightly mocking look.

Everett went quiet. He thought, 'What's the big deal? So what if I haven't found a girlfriend or had twins? When I get married, I'll probably have triplets.'

Even Isabella's eyes softened a bit.

But she didn't step forward; she just watched Oliver intently.

Although Isabella really wanted to run up and hug Oliver, she knew if she acted impulsively, she might blow her only shot at making up with her daughter Cassie.

She held back her emotions so hard, she was practically panting.

Declan noticed too. "I think I should take Isabella to the hospital, and Everett still has injuries. We'll head out first."

"Mr. Wittelsbach, don't worry, we'll get the best doctors for Isabella," Carl said politely.

Declan nodded and said to Joseph, "I'll come find you. Thanks for saving my son."

With that, he left with Everett and Isabella.

Joseph also took Oliver's hand and walked out with Carl and the others.

"Joseph, why didn't you take the Hernandez Group's offer just now?" Michael said, a bit regretful. "Plus, you saved Everett. The Wittelsbach family owes you big time. You deserve it."

"I saved Everett for myself," Joseph said casually. "Besides, I can start over anytime as long as I've got the skills."

"Yeah, that tracks," Carl said, giving Joseph a nod. "Hey, Joseph, ever thought about getting into politics?"

"Nah, I'm good. I like making money," Joseph shrugged. "And I’m not exactly broke right now. I just want to dodge some folks, live quietly, and focus on the important stuff."

"Like what?" Michael asked, curious.

"Chasing women," Joseph's lips curled into a smirk. "I've settled my big scores, but I'm still missing a girlfriend."

Michael went quiet, thinking, 'How did I not notice Joseph was this full of himself before? Maybe the amnesia brought out his true colors?'

"Let's roll."

Joseph pulled Oliver into the car.

Oliver sat coolly in the back seat, humming with mixed feelings. "I gotta admit, you've been pretty attentive to Marigold lately, but my mom's done with you."

"Whether she's done or not isn't for a kid like you to get. It's grown-up stuff."

Joseph tapped the steering wheel. "Besides, even if she doesn't love me anymore, I can make her fall for me again."

Oliver frowned. "You've lost your memory. You don't remember your feelings for my mom. Why are you still clinging to her?"

"Hey, don't parents' relationships matter? Don't you kids want a complete family?" Joseph said lazily. "I'm still your dad, after all."

"Really? I almost forgot if you didn't mention it," Oliver replied.

Joseph was speechless.

But he couldn't blame Oliver. Joseph had been a pretty lousy dad.

"Oliver, your words made me think. I've been a crappy dad. Now that the enemies are dealt with and I've got time, I've decided to be a decent father for a change."

Joseph suddenly got serious. "Starting today, I'll be the one taking you and Sophia to preschool."

"We have a driver. I don't need you to take us," Oliver shot back.

"A driver isn't your dad. Your opinion doesn't count. You're only three. I have a duty to look after you," Joseph decided.

Oliver frowned deeply.

Fifty minutes later.

The car finally pulled into the Chapman family villa.

Before the car even stopped, they saw Cassie rushing out.

Joseph could tell she hadn't slept all night, her hair a mess.

The cool night breeze blew her long hair, and under the streetlights, her eyes were filled with anxiety until she saw Joseph and Oliver.

Cassie's eyes gradually calmed down, and deep within them, there was a hint of disbelief.

"Mommy," Oliver got out of the car, still in his little black suit, looking cool and unscathed. "I'm fine."

"Thank goodness," Cassie walked over, squatted down, and hugged him tightly.

Sophia came out, licking a lollipop, looking puzzled.

Oliver saw her and suddenly exclaimed, "Oh!"

"What is it?" Cassie's heart tightened with worry.

"There was so much good food tonight, all the stuff Sophia loves. I wanted to bring some back, but I forgot," Oliver suddenly said.

Cassie was silent.

Sophia's eyes welled up with tears. "Really? If I had known, I would have gone with you. Why didn't you take me? That's so unfair."
