Chapter 1316 Isabella Begins to Suspect

After David wrapped up his speech, the two dudes grinned like they just hit the jackpot. David had been waiting for this moment forever.Upstairs.

As Isabella was getting ready to bounce, a secretary popped in and said, "Ms. Brooks, Aiden wants to see you."

"Aiden?" Isabella paused, then it hit her—this was the jerk who ditched her over twenty years ago. She never thought she'd see him again, but here he was, finding her. "Send him up."

Five minutes later, in walked a middle-aged guy in a black suit. He looked like he was in his forties but had aged pretty well. He wasn't as tall and beefy as Declan, more on the lean side, but his nose was still prominent, and his features were sharp. Despite a few wrinkles around his mature eyes, he still had that charismatic vibe.

Isabella's face twisted with hatred. She thought, 'This idiot couldn't even recognize his own daughter.' Aiden, on the other hand, looked kinda excited and dazed seeing her.

He remembered seeing her not too long ago, all vibrant and charming. Now, just a month later, she looked totally different—pale, tired, and way thinner.

"Isabella."

"Shut up, you don't get to call me that," Isabella snapped.

"Sorry."

Aiden felt a sting of bitterness and quickly lowered his head. "Mrs. Wittelsbach."

"That's even worse." Isabella suddenly grabbed a cup and smashed it on the floor in front of him. Aiden stepped back, stunned by her fierce beauty. He couldn't believe the emotional woman in front of him was his unforgettable first love from back in the day.

"Then Ms. Brooks..." Aiden stammered, "Can we chill? I came to talk about our daughter."

"Sorry, my only daughter is Olivia." Isabella glared at him with pure disgust. "How did I ever fall for an idiot like you? You can't even recognize your own daughter. Cassie is not your daughter. You treat the real culprit who hurt our daughter like she's gold and completely failed as a father. If you had been a bit more attentive, Olivia wouldn't have been kidnapped and suffered so much."

Aiden stared at her, shocked. "No, you're the one who's mistaken. Cassie really is our daughter. Look how much she resembles you. And when she claimed to be part of the Chapman family, I did a paternity test..."

"I also did a paternity test. Olivia is my daughter." Isabella suddenly stood up. "You all want me to treat Cassie as my daughter? Not gonna happen. Cassie caused Olivia's death. I'll make sure she pays." Her eyes burned with overwhelming hatred.

Aiden was taken aback. He felt that Isabella in front of him was stubborn to the point of madness. He was really worried that she and Cassie would end up killing each other one day.

"Ms. Brooks, this is Cassie's hair." Aiden dropped a few strands on her desk. "If you don't believe me, take it back to Emerald Haven Island for a paternity test. Everyone there is someone you trust, and no one can fake the results. As for the paternity test with Olivia, did you personally conduct it?"

"My son did it himself. Are you saying I can't even trust my own son?" Isabella shot back, not buying it.

"Ms. Brooks, the hair might be real. But have you ever thought about whether it really is Olivia's hair? Did you personally see it being pulled from her head?"

"Shut up! Olivia is already dead, and you people still want to smear her." Isabella couldn't take it anymore and slammed the table as she stood up.

Aiden stayed calm. "Ms. Brooks, I also want to find out who our real daughter is. Your test says Olivia, but mine says Cassie. Both of us want the same thing: to find our daughter from back then. If Cassie is a fake, you don't have to do anything; I'll handle her myself. Olivia was cremated long ago, so I can't get her hair. This hair is from Cassie. I'm not lying. I want the truth, just like you."

He paused, seeing Isabella frown like she was deep in thought, and quickly added, "You might think your husband Declan has a thing for Cassie because she looks like your younger self, and you think Declan has ulterior motives. But I have no romantic feelings for Cassie, so I wouldn't insist she's my daughter if she weren't. There's no need for that." Isabella looked at him thoughtfully but stayed silent.

Seeing it was about time, Aiden said, "Ms. Brooks, it's just a matter of sending the hair for testing and making a phone call. As long as you keep it on the down-low, only you and your bodyguards will know. Cassie and Declan, no matter how powerful, can't control your territory."

"Honestly, people don't resemble each other for no reason. Cassie not only looks like you but also has eyes like mine. She also resembles my niece Luna."

He finished speaking and pulled out five photos from his pocket. "See for yourself. One's Cassie, one's my niece Luna, one's Olivia before plastic surgery, and the other two are from when we were dating. Kids look like their parents. That's all I'll say. I'm out." He turned and left, closing the door behind him. As he left, he glanced at her and sighed inwardly, hoping she still had some sense. The Isabella he knew shouldn't be so easily controlled by drugs.

In the office, Isabella's eyes drifted to the photos. She initially wanted to brush them aside, but she paused when she saw Cassie's photo next to Aiden's younger self. It made sense that Cassie resembled her because she was her aunt. But her eyes did indeed resemble Aiden's.

Isabella picked up the photos of Luna and Cassie again, surprised to find that these two unrelated people actually looked a lot alike. Then she picked up the photo of Olivia before her plastic surgery and found that Olivia didn't resemble Aiden at all, nor did she look like Luna. It didn't make sense for Cassie to resemble both Aiden and Luna. She recalled what Aiden had just said: kids look like their parents.
