Chapter 1372 He Likes Laura

Lucas shrugged, "Hey, it's not all bad. Derek's from the Jude Family too, so Laura can still look after Maeve. And with Laura's high status, she can pretty much do whatever she wants in Madison."

Michael was about to blow a gasket, "Are you serious?"

"Just calling it like it is."

Lucas took a sip of his wine, set the glass down, and gave Michael a look. "But you, man, you keep yelling about not wanting a divorce. You say it's for Maeve, but let's be real, it's gonna mess with her either way. So what's your deal? Is it really for the kid, or is it for Laura?" Lucas shot straight.

Michael was caught off guard, looking all kinds of confused.

Joseph snickered, "Dude, can't you tell if you like Laura?"

Like?

'Do I like Laura?' Michael thought, looked like a deer in headlights.

He remembered when he liked Megan, he was always trying to make her happy, doing whatever she wanted, even if it meant being someone he hated.

But with Laura...

Joseph swirled his wine, "Liking someone means wanting to be with her all the time, wanting to get close, to hook up. Even fighting's cool, as long as you can talk to her. If she smiles because of you, you're on cloud nine. And when she's with someone else, you're all kinds of jealous."

Joseph chuckled, "Like right now, even though I'm here with you guys, I can't stop thinking about Cassie."

He snapped a pic of his wine glass and sent it to Cassie: [Miss you.]

Cassie shot back a kissing emoji.

Michael and Lucas were speechless.

Lucas was chill, but Michael felt a weird mix of bitterness and envy.

Michael wanted that with Laura too. He thought, 'Wait, why do I wanna send "miss you" and kissing emojis to Laura? Do I actually like her?'

Michael thought hard. Even though he and Laura argued a lot, he still liked being around her, even if it was just to bicker; it was kinda fun.

Michael also often wanted to get close to her, sometimes even wanting to kiss her.

Lucas swirled his wine, "I don't know as much about love as Joseph, but I do know that when you're feeling... you know, in the morning or late at night, who do you think about? Is it Megan?"

"Of course not."

Michael denied it right away, his heart racing.

At those times, he always thought of Laura.

Thinking about it made Michael's face heat up.

"You know who you think about," Lucas chuckled.

Joseph gave Lucas a knowing look, "You seem pretty experienced. Who do you think about?"

Lucas suddenly froze.

Lucas used to think about Nina.

Every time Lucas was feeling down, he'd picture Nina's face. Even though he used to look down on her, at the last moment, he couldn't control his mind. But lately, it was Bernice who popped up.

Even though Lucas had been with a lot of women, the only ones he thought about late at night were Nina and Bernice.

"I never lack women around me," Lucas said, all nonchalant.

"You're a bad man," Michael said, then took a big swig of his wine.

"I gotta bounce," Joseph stood up, "I wanna go home and be with Cassie."

Michael was floored and pissed, "Seriously? You guys spent a whole month on a trip together, and we only hang out once a month."

"If it weren't for seeing you in such a mess, I wouldn't have come," Joseph shot him a look, "If you hadn't argued, you wouldn't have thought of us."

Michael was left speechless.

He used to love chilling with his buddies, but now he suddenly wanted to go home, take care of the kids, and whip up something healthy for Laura.

What the hell? Michael was freaked out.

"I just remembered I got something to do. I gotta go."

Michael stumbled to his feet and bolted out faster than Joseph.

Joseph just stood there, silent.

What did Michael remember?

"Guess I'm out too. You got the bill," Joseph patted Lucas on the shoulder.

Lucas's mouth twitched.

What did he do to deserve this? He came to hang with his friends out of kindness, and now he was the last one standing.

Lucas chuckled softly, staring at his wine.

On a night like this, he suddenly thought of a woman.

Too bad she's been out of town filming lately.

He thought for a moment and called Max, "After Bernice wraps up 'Callie,' try to keep her schedule close to Whisperlyn City."

Max was speechless, "Bernice is a cash cow for our company. Can you not mess with the profits?"

"Nope, I don't need money, I need women." Lucas hung up after saying that.

Michael bought a ticket to Silverwood overnight.

When he got to the Miller family's villa, it was already 11 PM.

He took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.

About ten minutes later, Rose came out, wearing a robe and looking tired.

"Sorry to bug you so late." Through the gate, Michael apologized, his face blushed, "I wanna see Maeve and Laura."

Rose frowned at him for a moment, then sighed, "Laura's in a bad mood and still pissed. You should crash at a hotel tonight and come back tomorrow. But if you come tomorrow, she'll probably divorce you."

"I don't want a divorce," Michael clenched his fists in frustration, "I know I messed up this afternoon. I'm here to apologize."

"I don't know why you young folks had to argue on the kid's big day, but Laura was so mad she cried. You must've really hurt her. I know my daughter; she doesn't cry easily. Luke and Elliott are both fuming."

After saying that, Rose went back to the villa.

In the living room, Luke and Elliott had come out. The guard had notified them when Michael arrived, but they didn't want to deal with him. Only Rose couldn't bear it.

"Why is he here?" Luke said angrily, "He only makes Laura unhappy."

Rose was about to speak when Maeve's crying came from upstairs, "I don't want to let him in, but Maeve is used to Michael being with her every night. Tonight Michael isn't here, and she's crying more than usual." Rose finished speaking and went upstairs.
