Chapter 1268: You Belong to Me
"But I don't wanna get fat. I wanna be handsome and liked by you." Joseph lifted his head, his eyes dead serious, reflecting Cassie's pretty face.
Cassie's heart just melted under his gaze.
Honestly, even though Joseph seemed kinda goofy now, after the injury and with that buzz cut, he was really rocking that chiseled look.
He used to look super handsome with that serious face.
But now, his innocent look was kinda adorable too.
"Well, I like you just the way you are now." Cassie couldn't help herself and leaned down to kiss him on the lips.
Joseph blinked his thick lashes and then kissed her back, "Cassie, I like you too."
Even though she knew his "like" was all innocent and not the romantic kind, Cassie couldn't help but feel her heart racing.
She leaned down again and kissed him, "Joey, open your mouth."
Joseph didn't think much and just followed her lead.
"Joey, close your eyes."
"Oh."
He obediently closed his eyes.
He thought Cassie's lips were soft and sweet, and he liked them a lot.
He didn't know how long they kissed, but he felt his body getting warmer and warmer.
Just then, she pulled away.
Joseph licked his lips, "Cassie, your lips taste better than chocolate."
Cassie's face turned red with embarrassment. She felt like a total rogue. Despite his innocence, she couldn't help herself. "Joey, remember, only I can kiss you like that. No one else can."
"Why?" Joseph looked puzzled.
"Because you belong to me, got it?" Cassie pointed to his delicate lips.
"Oh, I'm yours." Joseph nodded. He seemed to get it and then smiled foolishly.
His smile was as bright and clean as the sun.
Cassie felt her heart melting and quickly changed the subject, "Come on, let me feed you."
Joseph obediently ate a bowl of food.
After he finished eating, Cassie had a little too, then rolled up her sleeves, "You need a bath today. I'll get your clothes ready."
Once everything was set, Cassie led Joseph to the bathroom.
He had a head injury, so he had to avoid getting the wound wet and could only take a careful shower.
She stood on tiptoe and unbuttoned his hospital gown one by one. She was familiar with his body, but it was her first time bathing him, and her face turned red with embarrassment.
Joseph looked at her innocently, letting her do her thing. But as she washed him, he suddenly felt strange and said in a hoarse voice, "Cassie, I don't feel well."
Cassie was dumbfounded.
He had a health issue after being stabbed in prison. They hadn't had sex since they got back together, and he had even been seeing a urologist.
She knew he felt uncomfortable about it and had been silently encouraging him.
But how did he suddenly recover now?
He had a two-year-old's mind in a fully functional body.
Cassie was helpless.
"Cassie." Joseph looked down at her, his dark eyes all misty like he was about to cry.
Cassie glanced at his thin red lips, fought off her blushing, hooked her arms around his neck, and kissed him, "It's okay. I'm here."
After the bath, it was already 8 p.m.
Cassie quickly washed up and changed clothes. Joseph lay on the bed looking all satisfied.
But Cassie still felt a bit embarrassed.
She thought about calling Lucas to ask why Joseph's problem with getting it up suddenly went away, but it was too awkward, so she decided against it.
The next morning, she was still half-asleep. Joseph leaned in to kiss her again, "Cassie, I don't feel well again."
Cassie was helpless.
Soon, someone knocked on the door.
Cassie quickly pushed him away, "The doctor's here. Behave yourself, we can't do this now."
"Why?" Joseph pouted, looking all unwilling.
"Because we can only kiss in private. If someone sees, I'll be embarrassed. If you don't listen, I won't talk to you." Cassie had to threaten him.
Joseph seemed to get it but was scared Cassie wouldn't talk to him, so he obediently nodded.
Cassie covered him with a blanket, tidied up, and then opened the door.
It was Lucas and another neurologist and psychologist.
Lucas raised an eyebrow, "Did you just wake up? It's already 8:30."
"Too tired, overslept." Cassie answered awkwardly. She didn't want to admit they had been awake for a while.
"We're here to check Joseph's symptoms today." Lucas explained, "If his head injury is better, you can be discharged soon."
Cassie nodded. She also wanted to go home; it was way more comfortable there.
The neurologist walked to the bedside and asked Joseph, "Does your head still hurt today?"
Joseph looked at the doctor's coat and shook his head timidly, "I don't want a shot."
"Don't worry, no shots. But you have to stay still." The doctor checked his head and asked, "Is there anywhere you feel uncomfortable? Be honest."
Joseph thought seriously for a moment, then lifted the blanket and pointed to a spot near his waist, "Here, it feels uncomfortable."
The doctor was silent.
Lucas was silent.
Cassie wished she could find a place to hide. She hoped she was blind and hadn't seen anything.
"Joseph recovered?" Lucas snapped out of his shock and coughed twice.
"Yes, he suddenly recovered. I just found out too." Cassie, her face red, pretended to be shocked and innocent, and quickly covered him with the blanket.
The doctor composed himself and said kindly, "This is normal. I think he can be discharged tomorrow."
"Really?" Cassie was delighted.
"Yes, the external injuries are fine now. The brain issues will take time." The doctor quickly left.
As Lucas was leaving, he forced a smile, "Looks like I don't need to find a urologist for Joseph abroad. I didn't expect he could recover."
