Chapter 300
"Joseph paused, then pulled out his phone, shooting a Whatsapp message to Walter: “Forget about securing that coastal property for Jayden's family—give it to Peace Group instead.”
Walter replied him with a string of question marks.
Joseph's mind was a whirlwind of constant changes; it was exhausting.

After finishing the laundry, Cassie found him on the sofa, donning gold-rimmed glasses as he perused some documents. Papers were stacked on the table. She'd always found him attractive when he was working, but now, he was mesmerizing, lounging in his pajamas with damp hair.
Yet there he was, working past midnight—no wonder the Hernandez clan had risen under his guidance.
She couldn't slack if he weren't resting, so she continued to mop the floor.
When her eyes were sore and her back ached, his calm voice floated over, ""Go warm up the bed for me.""
What?
She turned to him, puzzled, wondering if she'd misheard him.
""The covers are too cold; hurry up,"" Joseph commanded bluntly.
""I don't do that sort of thing,"" Cassie objected. ""Besides, didn't you say I was dirty?""
Joseph rose from his chair with an impassive face, retrieved a small bottle from the cabinet, and spritzed it in her direction.
Cassie detected the scent of disinfectant, and her lovely features twisted as if she had stepped in something disgusting.
""It's sanitized now. Go ahead; you don't have the right to refuse.""
Joseph settled back into his chair and resumed work.
Feeling defeated, Cassie struggled momentarily but eventually entered the main bedroom.
The bed and sheets were exceedingly comfortable, and she was so exhausted that she fell asleep within seconds of lying down.
When Joseph finally put the paperwork aside, he realized it was already 3 a.m.
Removing his glasses, he ascended the stairs to find a petite figure with a sweet fragrance sleeping in the big bed.
He slid into the bed. It was indeed warm and cozy. Cassie instinctively snuggled into his familiar presence as she turned and burrowed into his arms.
His gaze softened as he watched her, his eyes reflecting a mix of tenderness and complexity.
Nights like these made it tempting to linger in bed, but he was the CEO of Hernandez Enterprises, especially now, having just returned. A pile of matters at the company awaited his grasp.
…
At six in the morning, he got out of bed quietly.
Cassie woke up, still groggy, and was stunned by the darkness outside.
Joseph looked at her dazed expression, and a slight smile curled his lips. ""I'm off to the office. You get some more rest.""
With that, he changed and left.
Cassie checked the time; it was only six.
She recalled going to sleep at around two last night. “My God, is this how hard he always works in New York? No wonder he's the wealthiest man in Madison. But this can't be good for his health.”
She furrowed her brow, trying not to worry about him, yet she couldn't control her heart."
