Chapter 58
""What are you going to do?"" The man's displeased gaze swept over her. ""Are you going to drink again, go back to the Brooks family, or have a date with your Billy? Oh, and you shouldn't forget to take Dakota out for a walk after he eats.""
Cassie felt choked but didn't dare to tell the truth. ""Laura and I are going shopping. It's getting cold lately, and I don't have any clothes to wear. I want to take a look at some clothes.""
Joseph looked her up and down with a hidden meaning and said, ""Indeed, you should buy some. Get something thicker, don't always wear so little in front of me.""
Enough is enough. If it wasn't to impress him, would Cassie still be wearing such thin loungewear now that winter is almost here?
""That works conveniently. I also need some clothes. Buy a few for me too, just use the card I gave you last time,"" he lazily added.
Cassie actually wanted to go out and have some late-night snacks with Laura.
Since obtaining their marriage certificate, she hadn't enjoyed any delicious barbecue, and it was also the perfect season for eating crabs.
""Well, you can go buy them yourself. I'm not your real wife,"" she complained a bit.
Joseph raised an eyebrow, smiling nonchalantly, ""What, hinting at me again?""
Cassie was completely defeated. Can't she have simple thoughts?
""Fine, fine, I'll go take a look for you. What size do you wear?""
""You don't even know what size I wear, yet you expect to please me with that attitude?"" Joseph's displeasure was evident. Was this what she called liking and loving him?
""I'm sorry, I'm not qualified enough,"" Cassie said, feeling dispirited.
Joseph snorted and told her his measurements.
""What price range do you want?""
""Anything is fine."" After all, he was not very familiar with clothing prices. In the past, his private clothes were all custom-made by top designers in the world.
Ten minutes later, Laura's car appeared downstairs.
Cassie got in the car with a heavy heart and said, ""Let's go to the mall. Joseph wants me to buy clothes for him.""
""What about the crab? I haven't even had dinner,"" Laura asked, puzzled.
Cassie could only grit her teeth and tell her the truth. Laura looked at her with deep disdain, saying, ""He's really...""
""Cassie, where is that domineering aura you used to have?""
""You don't understand. He always uses the excuse of Dakota's stomach troubles as an escape,"" Cassie said helplessly. ""And he saved me twice. I just wanted to repay him.""
""Who cares about such a strict nanny,"" Laura sarcastically remarked.
""Enough, let's drop it. I know I'm just a nanny."" Cassie sat in the passenger seat with a despondent expression.
""Oh no, when will I be able to stand in front of that bitch couple as the little aunt-in-law? Their engagement dinner is coming soon.""
Laura tilted her head, pondering, and finally concluded, ""Currently, in Joseph's mind, you are probably just a nanny who cooks well. You need to change his perception. The best way is to make love to him.""
""Be his real woman,"" Laura playfully winked at her. ""You know what I mean.""
Cassie was shocked and blushed at the thought of that scene."
