Chapter 600
"Despicable woman!" Leo seethed, his refined and handsome face contorted in a rage he had never known before. He strode over to Vera and delivered a stinging slap to her face. "I'll kill you."
"Atlas, save me!" Vera's voice was shrill with fear as she scrambled behind Atlas, her eyes wide with terror at Leo's fury.
Leo spun around, his gaze burning into Atlas. "I never expected this from you, Atlas. You've disappointed me deeply," he spat, his voice laced with betrayal. "I've been your brother since we were children, I've given you everything you've ever wanted. And this is how you repay me? You're a monster."
Chapman's anger echoed Leo's, his hand smashing a glass in a fit of rage. "How could you do something so heinous, Atlas? Have you abandoned all sense of decency?" he roared. The reputation of Leo's Family had become a laughingstock in the business world that day.
Atlas, I'm so disappointed in you," Grandma's voice was heavy with sorrow. "And you, Vera, I misjudged you. If I had known, I would never have allowed Leo to marry you."
Vera's protest was weak, her voice trembling. "I loved Leo, I truly did. I did all of this because my love for him was too great. I wanted to marry him, so I made a wrong decision."
"Your love for me led you to marry me while carrying my brother's child?" Leo's laughter was bitter, his face wet with tears of mirth. "I must be cursed to have crossed paths with you in this life. Get out, both you and your mother."
"Dad..." Luna's voice was barely a whisper, her face pale with shock. She had been poised to take over the Leo Group, but the revelation of the truth had left her reeling.
"Dad, I didn't know. I've always seen you as my father. Please don't abandon me."
"Are you sure you didn't know?" Cassie's voice was soft, her smile chilling as she advanced on Luna. "Three years ago, when Dad was left in a vegetative state after a car accident, you and your mother never visited him. Doctor Angelino, who was treating him, was nearly killed. If I hadn't kept it a secret and had Doctor Angelino secretly treat Dad, he would never have woken up."
Luna shook her head frantically, her voice rising in panic. "I didn't know, I did visit him."
"You were too busy marrying Felix," Cassie cut her off coldly. "Even when the rumors of Doctor Angelino's death spread, you gloated in front of me, mocking me for guarding Dad's body. In reality, you already knew, didn't you?"
"No, you're lying, I didn't," Luna stammered, her lips trembling as she denied Cassie's accusations.
Cassie's hand shot up, silencing Luna. "You thought you could take over the Leo Group. When my father died, Vera would naturally inherit everything. But you didn't expect him to wake up so soon. Time ran out, so you continued your deception. If it wasn't for me, once you tricked my father into giving you his shares, your true colors would have been revealed. Then, there would be no place for my father in the family."
Luna's knees buckled, her face ashen. Every word Cassie spoke was the truth.
"Damn it."
Leo was shaking, his body wracked with anger. If not for Cassie, he would have remained in the dark. The more he thought about it, the more he felt the cold, calculating hearts of the three people before him.
"Get out," Leo snarled, his eyes filled with loathing.
Atlas clenched his jaw, his head throbbing with fury. He knew things had reached a point of no return. "You have no right to make me leave. I am the CEO of the Leo Group and a shareholder."
Vera clung to Atlas's arm, her voice defiant. "That's right. Atlas owns twenty percent of the shares in the Leo Group. You can't decide this alone."
"How dare you…" Leo felt a surge of nausea, his anger giving way to disgust. He had never met people as shameless as them.
"Luna, say something," Vera said.
Luna stuttered, "Even if I'm not your daughter, I'm still a legitimate member of this family. And without me, the Leo Group wouldn't have been able to partner with Chamberlain. Felix, what do you say?"
Felix was visibly uncomfortable, but he spoke up. "Luna is my wife. If you want to drive her away, the Chamberlain Group will have to leave as well."
The shareholders of Leo's Group were thrown into a panic at his words. Director Bennett stepped forward awkwardly. "Leo, your family's private matters should be resolved at home. There's no need to air them at the 30th-anniversary celebration."
