Chapter 506

Cassie found the situation oddly coincidental. After ending one call, she attempted to reach Joseph again, but to no avail. In the end, she resorted to contacting Walter.

Walter's voice came through the line, sluggish and unenthusiastic. " Cassie, how may I help you?"

"Why isn't Joseph answering my calls?" Cassie cut straight to the chase.

"Joseph... Joseph is tied up in a meeting," came the response from the other end.

"What about yesterday and the day before? Joseph wasn’t available then, either," Cassie voiced her annoyance. "Regardless, I don't care. Please relay to him that he must return to the estate by tonight, or I'll come looking for him myself."

"Walter, don't try to pacify me. Joseph is busy..." Walter attempted to interject.

"Can he be busy for days on end without returning home or answering my calls? Or is Joseph entertaining another woman?" Cassie's voice dripped with sarcasm. "Is there another woman who resembles Megan this time?"

"No... I'll inform the Young Master," Walter conceded, his tone reluctant.

As the clock struck two in the afternoon, Laura called Cassie to update her on Nina’s predicament. " Cassie, listen carefully. Nina is in deep trouble. According to reports, there are allegations that someone was hired to orchestrate Joyce’s death, which led to her father suffering a heart attack out of rage and landing in the hospital. Currently, Nina's mother is seeking assistance, but sadly, it seems that no one is willing to lend a hand. There are whispers that the Hernandez and Jude families have threatened anyone who dares to intervene."

"How is this possible?" Cassie felt her mind spinning. "Joyce is dead?"

"Yes, those people are heartless. Joyce is Olivia, after all. What does her death have to do with Nina?" Laura's voice was filled with frustration. "I'm at the hospital with Nina's parents. Their relatives are giving them a wide berth, and even the staff has abandoned them. Moreover, the Zenith Group is facing significant hurdles that could lead to its downfall."

"I'll go find Joseph." Cassie's voice was filled with determination. She believed in her ability to save Nina and was eagerly awaiting the chance to prove it.

Upon reaching the gate, she was informed by the guard that it was not possible to open it at that moment.

" Cassie, without Grandma and Grandpa's orders, you can't leave alone," the guard pleaded helplessly.

"Enough with the nonsense. I need to go out to find Joseph," Cassie snapped, losing her patience. "If you don't open the gate, I'll ram it."

"Please, try to calm down," the guard was at a loss, just as a black Bentley pulled up.

Joseph emerged from the car, his well-tailored black suit enhancing his icy demeanor.

"Joseph, Cassie has been making a scene about wanting to find you," the guard greeted Joseph as if he were a lifeline.

Cassie sat gripping the steering wheel of her sports car until Joseph approached her window. She was still clad in pink pajamas, her well-nourished complexion making her look more radiant than ever.

"I'm back, let's go inside," Joseph opened the car door and lifted Cassie out.

"Joseph, let go of me! There's no way Nina killed Joyce. She's been falsely accused. Do the Hernandez and Jude families really need to gang up on a defenseless woman?"

Joseph remained silent, carrying Cassie into the house and gently setting her down on the couch.

"Joseph, are you even listening to me? Why did Michael blacklist Laura? Laura and Olivia are both my friends. What did they do to deserve this?" Cassie was at her wit's end and rose to her feet. "And what about Joyce? I told you she is Olivia. What is there to investigate?"

" Cassie, enough," Joseph's voice was icy. "You have been deceived by Nina all along."

"I don't know what you're talking about..." Cassie’s voice trailed off, disbelief etched on her face.
