Chapter 930 He Still Came

At the wedding banquet, Cassie had already changed into a red dress, which accentuated her graceful figure, with curves in all the right places. She also wore a beautiful diamond necklace around her neck. Undoubtedly, as today's bride, she remained the most dazzling presence.

"Cassie, David, congratulations to you both." At another table, Arthur stood up with a complex expression and raised his glass.

"Thank you." Cassie was about to drink when David gently reminded her, "Drink a little less. Just take a small sip."

"David really dotes on Cassie," a relative from the Foster family laughed and said with a smile. "Cassie can drink less, but David must drink three glasses."

"Jason, please don't make it hard for David." Cassie smiled helplessly. "We still have to catch a flight this afternoon for our honeymoon abroad."

"David, look how Cassie is defending you. Doesn't that mean you should drink more?" Jason didn't back down; instead, he became even more insistent.

"Alright." David looked at Cassie indulgently. "Don't worry, I can hold my liquor well."

"But..."Cassie said.

" It makes me very happy that you care about me." David was genuinely pleased.

Cassie watched him smile like a child, and a slight pang of pain arose in her heart. She vowed to treat him even better in the future.

At that moment, a rumbling sound suddenly came from outside.

Someone shouted, "Who is it, coming over in a helicopter?"

"Must be some big shot," another guest said.

Cassie's face changed. She remembered that Joseph had a private jet, and Nathaniel had said he should be able to arrive around this time. She hadn't expected that news of her wedding had spread so widely and that he would dare to come.

David also realized what was happening and instinctively tightened his grip on her hand. "Don't be afraid. I've arranged for people outside. Madison is our territory. I don't believe Joseph would dare to take my wife publicly."

Cassie's lips trembled slightly.

If it were anyone else, he might not dare, but Joseph was not an ordinary person. He was crazy, and no one could predict what he might do.

"David, I think we should leave now," she said worriedly.

"Alright." David frowned. Now was not the time to confront Joseph head-on.

Just as he was about to lead Cassie away, a figure with a cold demeanor walked in through the banquet hall doors. The man had an extraordinarily handsome face, and even though he was wearing a simple black shirt, his incomparably  noble aura was enough to overshadow everyone present.

The strong wind from outside made his shirt billow. At this moment, the man looked as grim as a demon from hell, his eyes bloodshot and his handsome face filled with a destructive gloom.

Everyone was shocked. The aura of this late-arriving young man filled the room with a sense of foreboding.

Liam rubbed his forehead, realizing that this meal would not be peacefully enjoyed.

"Uncle Joseph." Sophia stood up excitedly, but the light in her eyes quickly dimmed. It was too late; Uncle Foster and Mommy were already married.

"Joseph." Arthur frowned and revealed the man's identity in a somber tone.

The crowd was in an uproar.

This was Joseph?

The most distinguished man in Madison, Joseph?

"Mom, this is Joseph. He's so handsome, even more so than in the photos online," one girl said.

"I originally thought David was handsome too, but compared to Joseph, Joseph is still more handsome," another girl stated.

"Shut up," that woman scolded.

A group of young girls started discussing, and David's handsome face involuntarily darkened. He instinctively positioned himself in front of Cassie.

Joseph immediately spotted Cassie in the crowd. She was too striking, wearing that red dress, her skin fairer than snow, breathtakingly beautiful.

She was his lady.

And at this moment, David was holding her hand, and she was hiding behind David.

A wave of icy coldness swept over him.

Joseph strode towards them. His grim face was filled with frost; no one would think he was there to offer congratulations.

"Mr. Hernandez, if you're here to offer your blessings, you're welcome. But if you're here to disrupt the wedding, I can only tell you that you're too late. Cassie is now my wife," David stated.

He stared deeply into Joseph's eyes and added, "Please stop harassing my wife."

"Wife?"

Joseph let out a low laugh, but it was so lonely and sorrowful.

Once, Cassie had been his wife. He had personally forced Cassie to sign the divorce papers.

If only there were a time machine and a remedy for regret in this world.

Joseph wished he could go back and punch his former self. For Megan, he had missed out on such an incredible woman.

Now he was  in unbearable pain.

"It's just a wedding. Have you obtained your marriage certificate?" he sneered.

David looked at him without changing his expression. "We have it. We got our marriage certificate yesterday afternoon. Joseph, I'm not like you. If I want to marry a woman, I will give her both a marriage and a wedding."

The last glimmer of light in Joseph's eyes completely vanished. It felt as if something unbearable was welling up in his throat, and he almost couldn't stand.

Joseph hadn't expected that in just a few days, she had already obtained a marriage certificate with another man and even held a wedding.

He glanced around the wedding scene, seeing Aiden, Sophia, Liam—everyone knew, except for him.

"Joseph, you should leave." Cassie frowned slightly at Joseph's pale but handsome face. "I've made things very clear between us, and it's long over."

"Over?" Joseph laughed lowly, tears glistening in his eyes. "How long has it been? Has it even been half a month? Half a month ago, you were still lying in my bed."

He spoke loudly, and the guests began to murmur, their eyes filled with disdain as they looked at Cassie.

Elijah Foster and Rachel Foster were so angry that their faces turned bright red, but they were helpless, as this was their son's choice.

Cassie's eyes filled with anger. "Yes, I was in a relationship with you before. When I was with you, I did not cheat on you. It was after our breakup that I started being with David."

"Joseph, you don't need to sow discord." David held Cassie's shoulder, his eyes deep. "I know all about you and Cassie. In fact, I should thank you. If it weren't for what you did, Cassie wouldn't have accepted me so quickly."

Joseph was once again deeply hurt.

What did that mean?

Because Joseph had helped Megan hurt her, she had completely given up on him and thought David was better?
