Chapter 1212 He Might Not Really Love You

The phone rang for a while before Everett picked up.

Everett sounded surprised and a bit low. "Didn't expect you to call."

"Am I interrupting your date?" Cassie guessed he might be busy.

"No, just chatting with family," Everett said with a slight smile. "I told you, no girlfriend."

"Your parents are in Whisperlyn City?" Cassie was surprised. No wonder he hadn't been in touch much lately.

They'd been talking a lot recently about the villa and getting to know Whisperlyn City.

"They arrived a few days ago," Everett said.

Cassie thought about it. Wasn't that when the Hernandez Group had an incident? "Got time for lunch tomorrow? I need to ask you something."

"That's rare. Usually, I'm the one asking you," Everett joked.

"Do you have time or not? If not, forget it."

"I do. Lunch tomorrow sounds good," Everett agreed right away.

After hanging up, Everett stood on the balcony, feeling a bit uneasy. 'Cassie won't have found out anything, right? She probably just needs help with the Hernandez Group.'

"Everett, who were you talking to so mysteriously?" Isabella called from the living room. "Come over. Olivia brought some nice snacks."

"It's from an old Whisperlyn City shop I know you love, Mom. I love it too, so I brought some back," Olivia said with a smile.

"You're always so thoughtful," Isabella said, giving Everett a look.

Everett felt wronged. "Mom, if I were too thoughtful, Dad would say I'm disturbing you."

Declan chimed in, "I'm not that petty."

Everett thought, 'Who in the world is pettier than you?'

"Alright, what are you two arguing about?" Isabella glared at them, then gently asked Olivia, "What did Dale want when he took you out today? Did you have fun?"

"We went to his Skyline Club, and I invited two old friends over. But..." Olivia paused, frowning.

"But what?" Isabella thought she had been wronged.

"But Cassie and her friends came to cause trouble. One of them was Michael from the Jude family. Luckily, Dale was there, but because I was humiliated, Dale and Michael got into a fight," Olivia said, feeling upset.

Everett was stunned, and Isabella's face turned cold. "What's the Jude family?"

Everett explained, "In half a month, Carl from the Jude family will become the new president of Madison. Michael is Carl's nephew. I heard Michael is close to Joseph."

Isabella said, "Too bad I came too late. If I had been here earlier, Carl would never become president."

"Honey, if you're unhappy, I can still cause some trouble for the Jude family," Declan offered to please Isabella.

Olivia's heart skipped a beat; the Wittelsbach family's power was even greater than she had imagined.

Everett felt helpless looking at Declan. "Dad, let's not. I know our Wittelsbach family is powerful, but this is still Madison's territory. You're already targeting Joseph, and now you want to go after the incoming president. These two are the top figures in Madison. If they join forces, no matter how powerful we are, we might not make it out of Madison."

"I never consider anyone when I want to take someone down," Declan said, feeling displeased in front of Isabella.

"Alright, Everett has a point," Isabella said calmly. "I was just speaking out of anger. It's not like I have to ruin someone just because they offended me a little."

Declan fell silent.

Olivia, who had wanted to punish Laura, quickly agreed, "Mom is right. Dale just got punched a few times."

"Given Dale's status, he probably can't swallow this insult," Isabella said suddenly. "How did Cassie find you?"

"I'm not sure," Olivia looked confused.

"It seems she hasn't been taught a lesson," Isabella said to Declan. "Why is the Hernandez Group still being investigated after two days without any results?"

"Joseph is cautious. I heard they've been investigating for a while but haven't found anything significant," Declan explained. "But don't worry, I've already instructed that the Hernandez Group must be taken down this time. Even if there's no problem, we'll create one. As for Cassie, let her live a few more days; she won't last long anyway."

Isabella nodded in satisfaction, then said to Olivia, "I think Dale has a thing for you."

Olivia blushed and said nothing.

Everett said indifferently, "Dale is ambitious. Pursuing Olivia is just for the Wittelsbach family's power."

Although Olivia was his sister, with just that plastic face, truly wealthy and powerful men wouldn't be interested.

Everett didn't say it too bluntly.

Isabella nodded and reminded Olivia, "You can be friends, but he might not truly love you."

"Mom, I know. I see him as a friend."

Olivia thought to herself, 'Dale has a high status, but mine is even higher. I am just using Dale for now and enjoying the feeling of being pursued by the president's grandson. As for my future partner, he must either be extremely powerful or a global billionaire. I won't settle for anything less.'

The next day at noon, Cassie and Everett met at a restaurant.

This time, she arrived first and waited for several minutes before Everett showed up.

Everett was wearing the clothes she had picked for him last time: white casual pants paired with a sky-blue striped shirt. With his looks, he resembled a male model, drawing attention as he walked through the restaurant.

Even though Cassie was used to seeing someone as perfect as Joseph, she was momentarily stunned by his appearance.

"Are you stunned by my handsomeness?" Everett raised an eyebrow. "If you pursue me, I might consider it."

"Don't joke around. I'm really not in the mood," Cassie smiled bitterly.

Everett fell silent. He knew Cassie's situation better than anyone because it was all Declan's doing behind the scenes.

"Have you heard about the Hernandez Group?" Cassie broke the silence.
