Chapter 715

"Why are you in such a hurry? Did you remind him as I told you?"
"Yes, I did."
"Then there's nothing to worry about. No matter how much money it takes, keep his mouth shut. And be more careful these days, or I really can't save you."
Megan was furious after ending the call again. No doubt, Joseph must have found out something. She didn't expect that he wouldn't even care about her dignity anymore.
In the hospital.
Cassie was holding Sophia and feeding her porridge when Laura received a call and said helplessly, "One good news and one bad news. The good news is the cops rang up and mentioned they've got fresh evidence. Turns out those burglars from last night were on the take, with someone slipping cash to their families. And get this, they're pointing fingers at Nathan's assistant."
Cassie looked up and said, "The bad news is that Nathan's assistant confessed, right?"
"Yes." Laura sighed, "Which means we can't punish Nathan. But guess who handed the evidence to the cop? It was Joseph. What did you do this morning?"
"I said some things to Joseph. I was betting that he doesn't like Nathan much either." Cassie also secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
In fact, she went to make a scene this morning, also as a gamble. She bet that Joseph still had some feelings for her and that his tolerance for Nathan was reaching its limit. She also went to remind him that their child three years ago was indirectly related to Nathan.
Fortunately, she won the bet.
"You're amazing." Laura gave her a thumbs up.
"Did a mosquito bite your mouth? It's so swollen." Sophia, who was obediently drinking porridge in Cassie's arms, suddenly tilted her head and looked at Laura curiously.
Laura's pretty face turned red with embarrassment, "I was bitten by a dog."
"The dog must be very tall to bite your mouth," Sophia said with a smile.
Laura angrily put her hands on her hips and glared at her. "Looks like you're doing well enough to joke with me. Just now, you were crying in bed, wanting candy."
Sophia pouted and immediately burrowed into Cassie's arms, "It hurts again."
"Alright, Sophia was seriously injured this time. Let me kiss you." Cassie held her and kissed her little cheek again, and Sophia finally smiled sweetly in her arms.
However, since she had a significant head injury, after eating a little, Sophia soon became drowsy.
In the following days, Laura was busy helping her tidy up the house while Cassie stayed in the hospital to take care of Sophia. Since she had a lot of work, she usually worked while taking care of the child.
For these three days, Oliver also stayed in the ward without leaving. He always felt that Sophia's accident was related to him.
That night, when Liam came over, he felt very distressed.
"Alright, you take Oliver back to the hotel to sleep tonight. Look at you two; you've both lost a lot of weight."
"I'm okay." Cassie didn't feel comfortable leaving Sophia alone here.
"If you don't think about yourself, think about Oliver. You can't eat or sleep well in the hospital." Liam gently pinched Sophia's little cheek, "Sophia, how about I stay with you tonight?"
"Okay, I like you the most." Sophia also felt sorry for her mom and immediately said, "You take Oliver back. If you get sick, I'll be heartbroken."
"She's my niece. Do you think I would mistreat her?" Liam waved his hand.
"Alright." Cassie also understood her daughter's intention and nodded. "I'll make you something good tomorrow."
As she left with Oliver, she saw Liam making Sophia very happy. She couldn't help but think of the first year Sophia was born. She often cried and didn't like anyone other than Cassie to hold her.
But every time Liam came to visit from the States, Sophia would stop crying as soon as he held her and particularly liked Liam.
It could be the bond of family, or Liam and Joseph are similar. Children can sense these things.
