Chapter 1052 Joseph, It's Not Time To Give Away Your Position

"Yeah, when we brought Sophia home, Marcus gave her a cheap gift at the first meeting. Liam was dissatisfied with it. He said Marcus had never cared for him since he was a kid." As Mabel said, she became increasingly overwhelmed.

Joseph raised an eyebrow. "Don't you think it strange? Could Marcus dislike you so much that he would even neglect his own child? Can a Dad be that heartless?"

Mabel's eyes flashed with deep regret and sorrow. "I don't know what's going on. From the start, I was used by him. Even though he is heartless, Liam is his own son."

"So, think carefully. Are you sure the man you slept with that night was Marcus? Have you considered that he might have despised you and found another man to replace him?" Joseph's words were harsh and piercing, making Mabel's face turn pale.

"Joseph, that's enough. I'm not that stupid," Mabel said, trembling as she seemed to recall something. "I drank a lot that night and don't remember much. I just woke up the next day with Marcus beside me."

After she said this, she felt terrible. "Do you mean Marcus deceived me?"

"Yes, you don't know Athena and Marcus might be colluding. Athena is Wyatt's woman and is pregnant with Wyatt. I suspect Wyatt is covering for Athena. He likely threw Liam out that day, Athena informed the Chamberlain family, and then the Chamberlains had Liam killed." After Joseph finished speaking, he closed his eyes in sorrow.

This was bad news for Mabel. She had thought although Liam had been missing for a long time, there was still hope as long as they hadn't found a body.

"Not happening! Why would Marcus kill Liam? Liam is his biological son," Mabel shouted in disbelief.

"That's why I suspect Liam is not Marcus's biological son. When the Hernandez family data was leaked, I was arrested by the police. After I was discharged, I ran into Marcus bailing Liam out. That made me even more suspicious that Liam was a spy. The spearhead of the attack was aimed directly at Liam, so we were disappointed in him. But what if it was all a setup by Marcus?" Joseph said thoughtfully.

"What do you mean?" Mabel asked blankly, unwilling to believe it..

"Isn't it strange that Marcus met Liam in a café and was seen by shareholders? Marcus is Liam's Dad. Why did they have to meet in a café instead of at home?"

Mabel was horrified. "You mean that the Chamberlains orchestrated a café meeting to make the Hernandez Group's shareholders suspicious of Liam."

Joseph nodded. "So after the Hernandez family chip data was stolen, our first suspect was Liam. Liam didn't listen to Marcus, so he became the scapegoat. Liam went missing, and I was the last person to see him. Everyone thought I killed him, and I'm still facing that lawsuit."

Mabel staggered back a few steps, unable to accept this reality. "Why would they do this?"

She broke down in tears. "Could it be that Liam isn't his child? Then who is Liam's Dad?"

"This is just my guess." Joseph frowned. "I was young at the time, but I heard from Celeste that you married Marcus because you were pregnant."

"Yes." Mabel nodded blankly. "Actually, after divorcing Cameron, I didn't plan to remarry so soon. But that day, after a fight with him, I drank a bit and ended up with Marcus."

Joseph raised an eyebrow. As he saw her sad state, he could only sigh helplessly. "Is it possible that the person that night was Dad?"

Mabel was so shocked by his words. "No way."

"I was just speculating. Don't take it too seriously. I have to go out for a bit. Sophia and Oliver are your responsibility tonight." Joseph gave a brief instruction and left the bewildered Mabel alone.

He quickly drove to a villa Cameron had recently bought in Whisperlyn City. Although the Hernandez House was Cameron's, it was too high-profile, so he had yet to move in.

"Why are you here so late?" Cameron, dressed in a robe and about to go to bed, came downstairs when he heard Joseph had arrived.

"I saw the news today. The Garrison and the Chamberlain Groups are planning to collaborate," Joseph asked seriously.

"I knew it." Cameron nodded. "But I didn't get involved. I let the Garrison Group's general manager handle the negotiations with Felix. Although the Chamberlain family is currently the top family in Madison, their independent brands aren't doing well. The Lundrigans Group authorized them to use their chip technology, so they could only make a small profit. The Chamberlain Group lacks this technology, and they swallowed up the Chapman Group for logistics. So they want to introduce the Garrison Group's technology to develop products. They've already reached a preliminary agreement, and the Chamberlain family will invest $3 billion to build a park."

Joseph quickly understood, his eyes brightening. "You already signed this technology over to me. The Hernandez family has already invested ahead of them. By the time the Chamberlain family releases their product, ours will be out first, making their $3 billion investment a waste."

"Exactly. This is my revenge on the Chamberlain family." Cameron smiled.

"But won't the Garrison Group be in breach of contract? The Chamberlain family could sue the Garrison Group for fraud," Joseph said, troubled.

"That's why the contract you signed wasn't with the Garrison Group but with another company. Although it's not in my name, I control it. That company authorized you the top-tier technology, while the Garrison Group authorized the Chamberlain Group the secondary technology," Cameron explained.

Joseph suddenly understood and admired Cameron's far-sighted strategy even more. "Then I'll seize the opportunity to produce quickly and catch the Chamberlain family off guard."

"And this must not be leaked. So, you need to keep a low profile for now. It doesn't matter if people look down on you. The important thing is to learn to endure," Cameron said calmly, "Even if you want to teach David a lesson, you have to hold back for now."

As Joseph's face turned blushed with Cameron's words. He was surprised that Cameron knew about his plan to teach David a lesson. "Dad," he said awkwardly.

Cameron said earnestly, "Joseph, it's not time to give away your position. The more they underestimate you, the more they'll let their guard down. This is your chance to rise because no one suspects someone who is being oppressed."
