Chapter 1696 "I'm hungry."
Elliott's words were harsh, but in action and physically, he was repeatedly defeated by her.
That night, Elliott made love again.
The second time was when Julia was exhausted. He carried her to the bathroom, and under the shower, he made love to her for a long time.
The next day, Julia woke up in his chest.
Julia looked up and glanced at Elliott's sharply defined features. When was the last time she looked at him so closely?
It was probably around college graduation.
In the blink of an eye, he was thirty years old.
Compared to the past, his face had shed the greenness and naivety of youth. Now, his once extremely handsome face carried a few traces of mature steadiness.
She believed that even in New York City, such a face would attract many wealthy socialites.
Just like Isadora, who fell in love with him at first sight.
She gently brushed his thick eyebrows with her hand.
Elliott's dense eyelashes fluttered. When he opened his eyes and saw Julia in his arms, they were so close that he could feel the curves of her body.
Morning was a time when a man's sexual desire was at its peak.
With a woman like her beside him, Elliott instinctively turned over and pressed her down again.
Julia exclaimed in disbelief, "How can you again—"
Her words were completely blocked by his lips.
At this moment, she somewhat regretted pushing for marriage so quickly.
She had always known that he had extraordinary stamina in bed, and now, he was even more formidable.
After it was over, Julia's legs were sore, and she felt weak all over.
Elliott, on the other hand, seemed invigorated, getting up to dress with energy.
"I'm hungry." A delicate hand grabbed his shirt hem. Julia looked up at him, her hair slightly messy, lips slightly swollen, and her clear face tinged with an enticing pink.
This scene made Elliott's deep eyes twitch slightly, "You are something. Haven't I satisfied your sexual desire?"
"I said I'm hungry." Julia glared at him angrily.
But in her current state, she looked too alluring, completely lacking the intimidating presence she had in the business world.
"Why should I care if you're hungry? Didn't I give you money to buy food yourself?" Elliott snorted. He wasn't foolish enough to make her breakfast, especially after seeing her eat it all and waste a lot of what he made.
She didn't expect him to be so heartless.
Julia bit her lip in frustration.
Seeing her at a loss, Elliott felt as if he had finally won a round.
So, after washing up, he went to work in high spirits.
Julia lay exhausted on the bed, recalling the past. Back then, after their first time making love, he would always take care of her gently.
And now?
It was impossible not to feel disappointed, but if this continued every day, she definitely couldn't handle it.
Julia struggled to sit up, found her phone, and called her secretary, "Postpone the 9 AM meeting to 11 AM."
The secretary was stunned, "Why?"
"I'll be a bit late for the office."
The secretary was shocked. In her mind, Julia was someone who used every moment of her life to work hard. No matter what happened, Julia was never late. And today, she was postponing a meeting? This was unprecedented.
"Julia, is something wrong?" the secretary asked nervously.
"Nothing."
Julia hung up the phone.
It took her almost an hour to somewhat adjust her state. But when she was about to leave, she found that all her shoes had heels that were too high, making her legs very uncomfortable.
After driving to the office, her secretary, Delphine Waverly, immediately followed the usual routine and made her coffee.
While grinding the coffee, she secretly observed Julia, who was reading documents. As a personal secretary, she felt that something was different about Julia today. First, today's outfit was a fresh professional high-neck blouse, with a silk green scarf tied into a bow at the neck. Her lips were painted with wine-red lipstick. Whether it was the lipstick or something else, Julia's clear face today carried a hint of allure, mixed with a touch of charm.
Delphine was so distracted that she didn't notice the coffee overflowing until she reached out to pick it up and burned her finger on the spilled coffee. She suddenly hissed.
Julia looked up and frowned. "What's going on?"
"Sorry, it was my mistake." Delphine quickly apologized. She knew Julia was very strict, so she didn't hide the truth, "I just thought you looked especially beautiful today, so I stared a bit too long and got distracted."
Julia was speechless. With her secretary flattering her like this, what could she say?
But she also knew that Delphine wasn't one to flatter her, so she must be telling the truth.
But what was different about her beauty today?
Inexplicably, she couldn't help but think of her face in the mirror this morning, looking extremely alluring.
Even she wasn't used to looking like that.
"Clean up and go to the nearby mall to buy me a pair of low-heeled shoes," Julia said calmly.
Delphine was surprised again, "Didn't you rarely wear low heels before?"
"Maybe it's my age. I just want to be more comfortable," Julia said casually.
"Julia, don't joke around. You look like you're in your twenties. But low-heeled shoes are indeed more comfortable."
Delphine didn't dare stay long and quickly went to the nearby mall to buy a pair of white low-heeled shoes.
When Julia put them on, Delphine marveled. On the shelf, they were just an ordinary pair of shoes, not expensive. But on Julia's feet, they exuded a sense of elegance and nobility, making her want to go back and buy a pair herself.
This morning's meeting was the weekly regular meeting.
When Julia entered, she glanced at Garth, who was wearing a gray suit on the left. Garth wore rimless glasses and had his hair slicked back, looking like a business elite.
"When did you get back?" Julia asked in slight surprise after sitting down, "Is the project in San Francisco completed?"
"This morning. I'll report on the project's progress during the meeting," Garth smiled at her, his gaze lingering on her face, "You seem to have gotten more beautiful after not seeing you for a while."
"Mr. Tovar, that's not right. When is Julia not beautiful?" joked a subsidiary's general manager nearby.
"I think Mr. Tovar has a point. Julia is always beautiful, but today she seems even more so."
