Chapter 848

"WTH. I work out regularly," Michael said irritably.

On the way back, soft music played in the car.

Laura was very sleepy due to the hallucinogenic perfume she had inhaled earlier.

Upon arriving at Riverside Blossom, Michael turned on the light and, turning around, found Laura fast asleep. Her thick, long hair covered half of her face. In contrast, the other half, under the soft glow of the light, revealed a translucent whiteness like glass, making her usually fierce appearance seem gentle and harmless, like a docile little kitten, delicate and fragile.

After hesitating for a moment, Michael took a blanket from the trunk and covered Laura with it. Then, he sat in the front to check the news on his phone.

At Willow Creek Estates, Joseph placed the sleeping Cassie on the large bed in the bedroom.

On the way back, Cassie couldn't resist and fell asleep.

Joseph silently watched for a while, then went to fetch a basin of water and gently undressed Cassie. Upon seeing the bruises on her body, Joseph's handsome face turned pale with anger. But as his gaze traveled downwards, his face couldn't help but blush slightly.

Every time he had been with Cassie before, he had been impulsive and hurried; never had he taken the time to look at her so carefully.

Cassie had a great figure, slim where she should be and curvy in all the right places.

As a man, Joseph couldn't help but swallow hard. His eyes fixed on Cassie as if entranced.

After cleaning her up, Joseph dressed Cassie in pajamas and then went to take a cold shower.

Joseph used Cassie's towel, which carried her familiar scent. A clean freak, Joseph found it quite comfortable and didn't mind at all.

After the shower, Joseph lay down next to Cassie, covered them both with a blanket and breathed in her scent, feeling extremely content.

Later, Joseph couldn't resist pulling Cassie into his arms.

Cassie didn't wake up. She just nuzzled her face against Joseph's chest and wrapped her arms around him—all so naturally, as if they had done this countless times before.

Joseph was shocked. He turned his face to look at Cassie. The scene was so familiar, yet he couldn't recall it at all.

Cassie slept until mid-morning the next day.

Opening her eyes, she was met with a solid chestnut chest and the scent of Joseph's familiar masculinity mixed with the shower gel she used.

Cassie had slept in Joseph's arms all night?

Completely unprepared, Cassie's cheeks flushed uncontrollably. She quickly tried to get up, but the hand around her waist tightened, pulling her back into his embrace.

"Awake?" Joseph's voice, still groggy in the early morning, was deep and profound, resembling the sound of a cello, making her heartbeat inexplicably accelerate.

Looking up, Cassie saw Joseph's handsome face, which had just woken up and was now dazzling. She was somewhat annoyed, so she bit her lip and asked, "Why are you sleeping in my bed?"

"Honey. I'm a bad guy. You were sleeping so soundly last night. If I didn't take the chance to stay by your side, then I'd be a fool," Joseph chuckled softly, sounding so self-assured even when taking advantage of the situation.

"Shameless," Cassie muttered as she tried to get up. But not fully recovered, she fell back onto Joseph's chest again.

"So soon you want me to hold you again?" Joseph asked, and his eyes suddenly burned with intensity, his arms firmly holding Cassie.
