Chapter 813

It was 9:30 pm.

Joseph leaned against the door of Cassie's house, occasionally checking his phone.

Cassie was out so late. Why hadn't she come back yet? Could it be that she was out on a date with another man again? If Joseph hadn't investigated Tyler's whereabouts and found out that Tyler was working late at the office tonight, he wouldn't have been waiting here foolishly for seven hours.

Joseph had never waited like this for a woman before.

The elevator suddenly opened.

Several police officers frowned and walked towards Joseph, asking, "It's you."

Joseph was very puzzled.

"Get out of here. Either leave here or come with us to the police station," the police said coldly, "The owner of this house has already called the police, saying that you are her ex-husband, who has been harassing her incessantly since the divorce, making her too scared even to come home."

"Cassie called the police?" Joseph blurted it out.

Joseph became particularly angry, exuding a terrifying aura, which convinced the police that Joseph was a violent and unruly man.

"Of course she did. If she didn't call the police, she would continue to be pestered by you." One of the police officers began to lecture Joseph, "I've seen many men like you who continue to abuse their wives after divorce. Listen. Since you're divorced, just stay away from your wife. Don't make yourself look bad."

"Very good," Joseph remarked.

Joseph clenched his fists and strode into the elevator.

As the doors closed, he could still hear the police outside saying, "This guy's temper is really bad. If I were a woman, I would divorce him too."

Joseph walked all the way to the parking lot, slammed the car door shut, and called Wyatt Powell of Dragon.

"Find out Cassie's location for me. I need to know where Cassie is," he ordered.

Shortly after, Wyatt sent Joseph a message.
Wyatt: [Cassie is at the Chapman's mansion.]

Joseph's expression softened. Fortunately, Cassie didn't go on a date with another man, or he might have wanted to do something to that man.

The next morning.

When Cassie got up after a comfortable sleep with Oliver and went to have breakfast, the butler came in and said, "Mr. Chapman, last night after ten o'clock, a sports car arrived at the door and parked there. The security guard said that the car's lights were on occasionally and that there was someone inside. Judging from the style of the sports car, it's a globally limited edition, and currently, only Joseph owns one in the entire Madison."

Aiden suddenly became very angry. "Why is Joseph guarding my home's gate? I've never seen such a shameless man."

Oliver also looked nervously at Cassie and uttered, "Mommy."

"It's okay. Just have breakfast first. After eating, I'll go see Joseph," Cassie comforted.

Cassie glanced at Oliver and Aiden, knowing that she still had to meet Joseph.

"Cassie, listen to me. Stay away from Joseph. Tyler is a nice man. Get to know him more," Aiden earnestly advised. "Someone like Joseph is just not faithful in relationships. If it weren't for what happened to Megan, Joseph wouldn't have come back to you."

"I know, Dad. Have Uncle Chapman take Oliver to school later. Don't let anyone find out about him," Cassie said.
