Chapter 1809 Your Family Status Isn't Good Enough

After Wilford left.

Lucas quickly dialed Joseph's number, "Did Cassie sell the Zenith Group to Bernice?"

"What?" Joseph was stunned, "So she sold it to Bernice."

"She didn't tell you about such a big decision?" Lucas pointed out, "Joseph, your standing in the family isn't great."

"You just realized? I'm the lowest in the family hierarchy." Joseph sighed.

"Why did she sell it to Bernice?" Lucas was very curious.

"Maybe because Bernice is a good friend of Nina. Cassie is usually very busy, and she can't manage all the companies she owns. It's good that she sold it." Joseph speculated, though he was a bit puzzled, why Cassie didn't tell him the truth in the morning. He wouldn't have minded her selling it to Bernice.

Lucas was deep in thought.

As he was pondering, there was a knock on the office door.

"Talk to you later." Lucas hung up the phone and looked up. Sarah, in a white dress, walked in carrying a thermos.

"Lucas, Erin specifically asked me to bring you this soup." Sarah brushed her hair behind her ear and said gently, "Erin said you've been too tired lately and lost a lot of weight. You need to take care of yourself."

As she spoke, Sarah opened the thermos.

A fragrant aroma of stew wafted out.

"Since the soup is here, you can leave now," Lucas replied indifferently.

Sarah bit her lip, "Lucas, I haven't been able to get any roles or ads recently. Even my songs have been taken down from all major platforms. I haven't had any income for three months."

Lucas looked at Sarah in front of him, and for some reason, Bernice's image flashed in his mind.

Both were artists promoted by Dreamscape Entertainment Group. One is now a shareholder of the Nelson Group. Even before, Bernice was good at acting and had courage and strategy.

As for Sarah, she only knew how to take advantage of him and didn't put in any effort.

He thought about how he had almost married Sarah before, and a deep sense of repulsion filled his heart.

"I'll have someone transfer a million dollars to you, enough for two months' expenses." Lucas said indifferently.

"Isn't that a bit too little?" Sarah was a bit disappointed, "Actually, I was planning to invest in opening a movie theater with some friends. I've already thought of a name. I want to have my own career and not rely on you all the time."

"How much do you want then?" Lucas lit a cigarette and asked calmly.

Sarah looked at his expression, unsure of what to make of it, but she really had no income now. "About three million dollars, because the location we have in mind is quite expensive and the area is quite large."

"So, how do you calculate these three million dollars? How many times will you donate blood to my mom?" Lucas took a puff of smoke and exhaled lightly, "We're not even in a relationship. You can't expect me to just give you money for no reason. Three million dollars is more than some people make in a lifetime."

Sarah was stunned, not expecting Lucas to be so straightforward.

She knew that in the past, whenever she donated blood to Erin, Lucas would agree to whatever conditions she proposed.

Three million dollars was like thirty dollars to him.

"Lucas, why do we need to talk about money between us? When you were in prison, I was so worried about you. I've long treated Erin like my own mother. Whenever she needs blood, I'll be there." Sarah said softly.

She thought that after Lucas had suffered such a big loss with Bernice, and she had stayed by his side for the past few months, he would show some compassion.
