Chapter 1152 Cassie, I'm Drunk

"Are you nuts? The Jude family won't let the Hayes or Tarro families off the hook. Plus, Benjamin might not even make it out. I think the Jude family plans to keep him." Bryan sighed.

Abigail was shocked.

At Jude Manor, Laura had just finished eating when Julia took a call and told Carl, "Carl, Benjamin's been arrested."

"Okay," Carl said, sipping his tea. "What about the Campbell family?"

"Mr. Campbell says he's sick and isn't seeing anyone. He's also taking a few days off," Julia replied calmly. "I think he'll lay low for a while."

"Will he come back to cause trouble?" Carl asked Derek. "I thought about keeping Mr. Campbell around, but it's not worth it. Fire the Campbells within two days. We don't need them."

"Got it," Derek nodded, his usually gentle face now sharp, surprising Laura.

Laura was taken aback. Carl had always been kind around her, making her forget that politics were never simple.

"As for Benjamin," Carl smiled at Laura. "Since he crossed Laura, let him spend his life in prison."

Laura gasped. "For life?"

Derek looked at her. "He challenged the Jude family, so he should expect the worst. If we don't make an example of him, who will take us seriously?"

"The Jude family has always had a good reputation, and Benjamin almost ruined it," Eric agreed with Derek.

Laura was conflicted. She hated Benjamin but didn't want him in prison for life. However, he had offended the future president, and that couldn't be ignored.

"By the way, Michael," Caroline said suddenly, "since you're married now, you should take Laura to Silverwood to visit Luke and Rose. Go tomorrow."

"No problem," Michael nodded. He glanced at Laura. "Joseph and Lucas heard about my marriage and want me to treat them tonight."

"Alright," Laura responded indifferently.

She thought, 'Why is he telling me this? If he wants to go, just go.'

Seeing her indifferent attitude, Michael felt uneasy. "I'm just letting you know so you don't think I'm meeting Megan."

"If you meet Megan again, I'll break your legs," James warned.

Michael's legs trembled, and he laughed awkwardly. "I have nothing to do with her anymore."

After dinner, Michael drove to the club.

Lucas was already there, sitting on the sofa, playing with a lighter, lost in thought.

"What are you thinking about?" Michael sat next to him. "Where's Joseph?"

"He should be on his way. He called an hour ago, said he was playing basketball with Oliver and Sophia and would come after," Lucas replied leisurely.

Michael was speechless. "Having a wife and kids is great. But now I have a wife and kid too. Lucas, it's just you and Noah left. Good luck."

"I don't envy you," Lucas said flatly.

"Yeah, you never wanted to get married," Michael teased.

"You seem happy. Didn't you not want to marry Laura before?" Lucas glanced at him with a forced smile.

"Am I happy?" Michael looked confused. "I don't think so."

Lucas snorted inwardly, 'He's so smug and doesn't even realize it.'

"Since I had to get married, and if it weren't Laura, Caroline would keep setting me up on blind dates. At least Laura already has my child. She's pretty, talented, and my family likes her. So she's a good choice," Michael said.

"Congrats. If it weren't for Benjamin's incident, Laura probably wouldn't have married you," Lucas smirked. "You got lucky."

"Don't say that. I'm not bad." Just as Michael finished speaking, the door opened, and Joseph walked in, hands in his pockets, looking noble. "What are you guys talking about? Hurry up; I need to go home."

"What's the rush? You have erectile dysfunction, so why hurry home?" Michael teased.

Joseph's face darkened. "Michael, you looking for a fight?"

Lucas chuckled. "Give Michael a break today since he got married. Come on, Michael, cheers."

Lucas leaned in close to Michael's ear. "Once a woman is past her first trimester, it's safe to have sex. Need tips?"

"Get lost." Michael jumped up, blushing.

"We're all men here. What's there to be shy about?" Lucas laughed.

Michael was on the verge of tears. "You guys are overthinking it. Before we got married, Laura made me sign an agreement that we wouldn't have sex after marriage. We're just a couple in name only."

Joseph gloated. "That's great."

"Come on! I'm a man," Michael said.

"You managed before marriage, didn't you?" Lucas smiled.

"No way. It was different before marriage. Now that we're married, why can't I sleep with her?" Michael was frustrated. "Help me."

"There's nothing to think about. Laura is pregnant now, and you can't force it. It would harm the baby," Lucas advised. "Just hold it in."

Michael angrily took a big gulp of his drink.

Joseph also drank a couple of glasses but didn't dare drink more for fear of getting drunk.

By nine o'clock, Joseph left early to go home.

"Joseph, you're no fun," Michael complained. "It's my wedding day, and you're leaving so early."

"You should learn from me and get used to spending time with your wife and kids." Joseph smiled and left coolly.

When he got home, Cassie was still telling stories to Oliver and Sophia.

He climbed into bed and hugged her from behind. "Cassie, I'm drunk."

Sophia looked disgusted. "Daddy, you're so shameless, acting like a child."

"Embarrassing," Oliver added.

"You kids don't understand. It's normal to act cute with your wife." Joseph clung to Cassie, making Oliver and Sophia cringe.
