Chapter 790
Cassie told Joseph not to follow her in the afternoon, but she texted Joseph in the evening.
Cassie noticed Joseph showing off and gave him an annoyed look.
Ignoring her, Joseph addressed the Jude family and asked, "Mr. Jude Junior, why did you summon Cassie and Laura?"
Eric looked at Laura, "Laura ruined Michael's reputation. I have no choice but to worry that Michael won't find a wife, and I want Laura to marry Michael."
Eric's idea shocked Joseph, too, "Does Michael know about this?"
"I told him," Eric sighed, "Joseph, Michael is getting older. I can't see him waste time like this."
Joseph was momentarily speechless. He was aware of Michael's feelings for Megan. "Mr. Jude Jr., I need to take Cassie and Laura with me today. Please don't make it hard for them."
"Fine, you had everything arranged in advance," Eric said angrily, looking at Laura. "The next time we talk, Laura, I hope you'll be Michael's wife. You have the power to influence Michael. If you marry him, I'll give you ten percent of the Jude family's shares."
Laura hesitated for a moment and shook her head, "I can earn money on my own; I don't need shares from the Jude family."
The people of the Jude family were all shocked, not expecting Laura to reject directly without hesitation.
"Mr. Jude junior, it seems you can't persuade Laura." Joseph smiled, grabbed Cassie's hand, and walked out, followed by Laura.
After a moment of silence, Eric slammed the table in excitement, "Laura, who doesn't desire wealth, I have decided that she will be Michael's wife."
James was furious, but Caroline, being more perceptive, noticed and remarked, "Just now, Joseph was holding Cassie's hand. What does that signify? Are they reconciling? Wasn't Joseph supposed to marry Megan?"
"They didn't get married. I heard that Megan might have had an improper relationship before marriage, and the Hernandez family never mentioned redoing the wedding," James said.
"Oh no, if Megan doesn't get married, she might end up turning to Michael as a replacement for her feelings. Michael is always around Megan. We need to figure out a way to get Michael married soon," Caroline said, feeling anxious. "I won't allow Michael to marry Megan." Eric and James agreed with her. A woman like Megan should never become part of the Jude family.
Just after leaving the hall, Cassie forcefully pulled her hand back.
Joseph looked down at his empty palm and glanced at Cassie with resentment, "I didn't even have dinner, and I ran to save you."
"So, you saved us, and now I have to hold your hand?" Cassie said to Joseph with a cold look. "Well, next time, just don't bother saving me. I can find my own way out. Maybe you should just marry Laura's friend instead."
Laura, who was walking behind them, felt deeply disappointed by the shallow friendship displayed.
Joseph fell silent, too.
Cassie decided to ignore Joseph and instead turned to Laura, asking, "Do you happen to know the value of ten percent of the Jude family's shares?"
"How would I know? I'm not familiar with these things..." Laura answered.
"At least worth over three hundred billion dollars."
Laura counted on her fingers, realizing that the money she had lost couldn't be earned back even if she worked hard for several lifetimes.
"Forget it. Even if you offer me five hundred billion dollars, I don't want to be with a fool like Michael. All Michael does is spend his time with that woman Megan."
