Chapter 746
If it had been before, Joseph would have dared say that Megan was not that kind of person, but now he was not sure. Even being scolded by Cassie made him grit his teeth a bit.
"Hurry up and leave; don't infect Sophia with the illness," Cassie once again issued an eviction order.
Joseph had to resign himself to leave. Once in the car, he immediately gave orders, "To Hernandez's group, I've already taken my meds. No need to go to the clinic."
Nathaniel, seeing this, didn't say anything further.
After all, apart from some mental issues, Joseph was as healthy as a bull, never catching a cold throughout the year, today being an exception.
"By the way, make a call and have Liam come here immediately. Arrange some urgent matters for him," Joseph said again, not wanting to see a warm scene with Liam, Cassie, and Sophia together.
Nathaniel understood Joseph's thoughts very well.
"And," Joseph added, "Look into Tyler's background."
Nathaniel couldn't help but say, "Joseph, as far as I know, Tyler from Whisperlyn City is polite, talented, and of good character."
"Enough," Joseph interrupted coldly, "I want his flaws. Everyone has flaws, like bad habits."
Nathaniel sweated on his forehead, "I heard nothing of the sort; Tyler is a disciplined person; he hardly goes out."
"I don't need gossip. Hearsay isn't necessarily true," Joseph reminded him, "things like foot odor, bad breath, impotence, liking men, all of that."
"Okay." Nathaniel understood, but Joseph wanted to sow Discord in front of Cassie again.
What did he want to achieve? He's about to get married, yet he's still meddling with his ex-wife.
Nine o'clock.
When he stepped into the office, Megan had been waiting on the sofa for a while. Seeing him, she immediately asked anxiously, "How is Sophia? Is she okay?"
Joseph raised his eyebrows to look at her. He was feeling unwell at the moment and just wanted some peace and quiet. Megan's presence made his temples ache.
"Megan, can you tell me why Sophia fell last night?" Joseph suddenly asked.
Megan's heart trembled as she looked at Joseph's expressionless face. For a moment, she felt a bit uneasy, not knowing if Sophia had blamed her later for what had happened last night.
Seeing her silent, Joseph's handsome face grew more serious, "Is it so difficult to answer a question for me?"
"You misunderstood; I just feel responsible for her fall," Megan bit her lip, saying vaguely, "It's my fault; if I had been more careful, more patient, she might not have fallen. I'm sorry."
Joseph stared at her. In the past, he might have comforted her unconditionally. But last night, Sophia's crying made him realize rationally that although Megan took the blame, she had been covering up the real reason for Sophia's fall from beginning to end.
It was as if Sophia's falling was just due to her carelessness, not because she was worried about getting her clothes wet and pushing the child out.
"Megan, do you not like children?" he suddenly asked.
