Chapter 358

"It's been removed, but I'm afraid the word has already spread throughout the company," Coco replied hesitantly. "Miss Brooks, you shouldn't take other people's gossip to heart."
"This isn't up for debate. It's the truth." Cassie's gaze was intense as she locked eyes with him.

Coco was speechless.
How was he supposed to broach such a topic?

Just then, the secretary burst in, frantic. "Miss Brooks, it's chaos! Some people have barged into our company and are trashing the place! They're demanding to see you!"

"I'll go down." Cassie stood up.

The secretary fretted. "Miss Brooks, that may not be wise. They've got cameras—looks like they're planning to post the footage online."

"It's fine." Cassie headed downstairs.

Halfway down, her phone rang—it was Joseph. "Don't go. I've notified Joel, and she's on her way with backup."

"No need. I can handle this myself."

"Cassie, don't let pride cloud your judgment. Clark's down there, and he's not one for a reason."

Cassie chuckled sardonically. "Now that I'm stuck with you, I have no choice but to face these things head-on—you can't always be there to protect me."

After hanging up, she stepped out of the elevator.

Straightaway, a rotten egg splattered against her forehead, mingling with the bandage on her face—a shocking sight.

"Slut! Stealing someone's boyfriend—you deserved that. I'll crush you!" A well-dressed young girl standing beside Luna shouted with disgust.

"Miss Brooks!" Coco was startled and quickly reached for a tissue to wipe her face.

Cassie tore off the bandage, revealing a raw, red wound.

"So ugly! Even Joseph would be nauseated seeing that face," another flashy girl remarked with disdain. "Trash like you has no place in New York. Get lost!"

"I'm sorry, but Joseph was still in my bed this morning, caressing my face, asking me not to leave him."

With a faint smile, Cassie's nonchalance sent Luna trembling with fury. Luna lunged forward, slapping her. "Cassie, go to hell!"

This was the moment Cassie had been waiting for. She grabbed Luna's wrist, yanked her forward, and slapped her fiercely in return. "This is for what you did to me yesterday—now we're even."

After several sharp slaps, Luna was dazed.

"Bold of you to fight right under my nose!" Clark charged over. Coco jumped in shock, stepping forward to intercept.

Clark kicked him aside with ease. Cassie pulled out a pocketknife and pressed it against Luna's cheek, her eyes blazing. "Make a move, and I'll ruin her pretty face."

"Don't do anything, Clark! I can't be disfigured," Luna cried, petrified.

"Cassie, if you lay a finger on her, I’ll kill you!" Clark bellowed, enraged. He had come to settle scores with her but found himself being threatened instead.
"You think you can just take a life whenever you feel like it? If I were afraid of death, you wouldn't be standing here." Cassie taunted with a sneer. "But it's different for Luna. You're hoping to climb up the ladder with her looks and get in with the Hernandez family. Who'd want her if her face was ruined?"

"What do you want?" Clark snapped, his temper flaring.

"Hand over the cameras you used." Cassie signaled with a knowing glance.

Left with no choice, Clark waved his hand, and his crew reluctantly passed all their cameras to Cassie's associates.
