Chapter 286

"Everyone aboard the yacht stared at Joseph, dumbfounded. Mr. Hernandez's reputation for being indifferent to women was no secret.

""Joseph, what brings you here?"" someone asked, startled by his sudden arrival.

""Who gave her alcohol?"" Joseph's stern gaze swept across each face, chilling everyone.

Turning hopefully toward Michael, they pleaded, ""Michael, it was you who hinted we should do this.""

""It's fine,"" Michael said, gesturing with his hand for calm before sidling up to Joseph and whispering with a conspiratorial smile, ""Joseph, I was just trying to avenge you. After all that she has done, deceiving and playing you, she dares show up in New York! She needs to be taught a lesson, or else…""

Before he could finish, Joseph's fist landed fiercely on Michael's face, catching him off guard, his lips bleeding.

""Joseph!"" Michael was furious.

The other guests hurried for the yacht's exit. A clash between two New York powerhouses was akin to an earthquake—no one dared to get involved.

""Nobody leaves,"" Joseph warned, his eyes narrowing as his bodyguards blocked the entrance.

""How have we offended you, Joseph?"" Kelvin asked, trying to mask his fear with a smile.

Joseph's icy stare lingered on each man aboard. Most of them were wealthy playboys and regular patrons of indulgence. His disgust grew as he thought of their leering gazes and possible touches on Cassie before his arrival. He wanted to gouge out their eyes.

""Michael, they're here on my invitation. If you have an issue, take this up with me."" Michael stepped in to shield them.

The silence aboard the yacht was so profound that you could hear even a pin drop. Joseph lashed out with a warning, ""If a single word, photo, or video from tonight gets out, I'll make your families disappear from Madison.""

The seriousness of Cassie’s connection with Joseph became clear to everyone, especially those who had taken liberties with her. Their faces turned pale.

""Furthermore,"" Joseph continued, ""anyone who touched her tonight, make sure you break an arm before you leave. I'm sure there's surveillance footage.""

He scooped Cassie into his arms and left.

Pursuing him off the yacht, Michael's anger was palpable. ""Joseph, you're disrespecting me. I don't understand you. She doesn't care about you. She was even close with another man when she was seeing you. She deserves to be punished. Besides, I was here. I wouldn't have let anyone hurt her.""

""The punishment, if any, is mine to administer,"" Joseph retorted calmly, ""and certainly not yours to dish out.""

After leaving the yacht, Joseph stepped aboard a helicopter, ready to leave the chaos behind.
As the plane took off, the droning noise left Cassie dizzy, her stomach churning violently until she vomited all over Joseph's chest.

The pungent stench assaulted Joseph's nostrils. His handsome face was exuding fury. In one swift motion, he dropped Cassie onto her seat and discarded his soiled jacket on the floor with disgust.

""Ugh... I feel awful,"" Cassie groaned, rolling over in the chair, her bunny costume tantalizingly out of place.

Joseph, initially filled with rage, felt a sudden shift in his emotions as he hastily pulled off his clean shirt and covered her body with it, afraid he'd lose all control with any more of a view.

Ten minutes later, the helicopter landed on the rooftop of Joseph's downtown penthouse.

He carried Cassie inside and tossed her onto the grand bed.

Distressed, Cassie curled up on the bed, her shirt falling off to reveal her slender legs. Joseph, unable to bear the sight, moved to cover her with a blanket, but Cassie suddenly caught his hand, whimpering, ""My stomach hurts; rub it for me.""
