Chapter 1153 Robert and Helen Are About to Be Discharged from Prison

Cassie blushed. "Laura and Michael are heading back to Silverwood tomorrow. I'm going with them. It's my grandma's birthday, and I want to pay my respects."

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Joseph frowned. "Nathaniel already set my schedule for the next two days."

"It's fine. I can go alone. Plus, Laura will be with me," Cassie reassured him.

"It's different. We're getting back together. I should go with you," Joseph said, nuzzling her neck.

"Hey, can you guys be mindful? We're still here," Sophia reminded, hands on her hips.

Oliver frowned. "You hog Mommy all the time. When she's free, you still cling to her. We need her too."

"Exactly," Sophia added, "If I knew you'd be this clingy, I wouldn't have supported you two getting back together."

Joseph looked both frustrated and embarrassed.

Cassie laughed, pushing Joseph away and hugging Oliver and Sophia.

"Mommy, can we go with you?" Sophia asked sweetly.

"No, it's still dangerous for you." Cassie shook her head. "I'll be back in two days."

She paused and looked at Joseph. "You don't need to stick to me every day."

"Are you tired of me?" Joseph felt a bit hurt.

Cassie shrugged. "Seeing you every day, you're not that handsome anymore."

Joseph's face darkened.

Sophia and Oliver laughed, especially Sophia. "Daddy, Mommy's right. You used to be very handsome, but now, seeing you so much, it's not special anymore."

Joseph felt helpless. He'd always been confident in his looks, but now Sophia and Cassie were critiquing him.

"Alright, Cassie, you can go, but come back on time. Don't make me wait too long," Joseph said, defeated.

"I think you misunderstood. I don't need your permission to go anywhere. I'm just informing you," Cassie reminded him with a smile.

Joseph felt aggrieved. "You're right. You call the shots."

"Mommy is amazing," Sophia and Oliver said.

It was normal for Sophia to say that, but Cassie glanced at Oliver. He seemed more cheerful since she and Joseph got back together.

The next day, Joseph drove Cassie to the airport.

Michael and Laura were already there. When Laura saw Cassie, she immediately took her hand. "Cassie, great! With you here, this trip to Silverwood won't be so boring. You should stay at our place tonight."

"Sure, I don't really have a place to stay in Silverwood," Cassie smiled.

"Take good care of Cassie," Joseph said to Michael.

"Come on, with Cassie's skills, she might end up taking care of me," Michael joked, then lowered his voice, "Honestly, why did you agree to let Cassie come with us?"

"What's up?" Joseph was annoyed. "You're lucky to have her with you."

Michael sighed. "Enough, Cassie might be a treasure to you, but not to me. I was hoping to use this trip to get closer to Laura."

Joseph looked at him disdainfully. "Even if Cassie didn't go, you wouldn't have a chance. Stop dreaming."

Feeling like he'd been doused with cold water, Michael didn't want to talk anymore.

"Cassie, be careful," Joseph said, cradling her cheek.

Cassie ignored him and walked hand in hand with Laura toward the boarding gate.

Joseph squinted at their clasped hands, feeling a bit uncomfortable. He didn't like her holding hands with anyone else, even if it was a woman.

On the plane, Laura and Cassie sat together, chatting non-stop.

Michael sat behind them, feeling bored since they weren't paying him any attention. He decided to sleep all the way to Silverwood.

The plane landed at Silverwood Airport.

Elliott, dressed sharply, had been waiting for a while. When he saw Michael, his face turned cold. "Mr. Jude, you can explore on your own. No need to come to the Miller family. Everyone knows you only married Laura out of necessity. Coming to the Miller family will just be a hassle."

Michael looked embarrassed. Previously, when he dined with the Millers, his mind was always on Megan, so he didn't behave very well. "Even if it was a marriage of necessity, it's still a marriage. Everyone knows about it. If I come to Silverwood and don't visit the Miller family, it will be embarrassing for them."

"You've done plenty to embarrass the Miller family already," Elliott said coldly.

Michael rubbed his nose. "Whether you welcome me or not, I'm still going. My parents prepared a lot of gifts for me to deliver to the Miller family."

Elliott gave him a cold look, then turned to put his arm around Laura's shoulder. "Let's go home. Cassie, you should stay with us for a couple of days."

"No, thanks. I plan to visit my grandparents," Cassie smiled and shook her head.

"Let me arrange a car for you."

"Don't bother. You guys should head back to the Miller family. I'll definitely come by tonight." Cassie waved with a smile.

Elliott nodded and was about to leave with Laura when he seemed to remember something. He stopped. "By the way, Cassie, I heard Robert and Helen are about to be discharged from prison."

"What?" Cassie hadn't spoken yet, but Laura was already agitated. "They were involved in trying to seize Cassie's inheritance and harming Natalie. They were supposed to spend the rest of their lives in prison. How come?"

"Apparently, they behaved well in prison and even performed some meritorious deeds," Elliott frowned. "The date is set. They'll be discharged next week."
