Chapter 782

Cassie looked confused until she noticed the couple beside her, and she was shocked. She recalled the conversation these two had just had, a topic she and Joseph had discussed previously at KFC in Madison.

Did he remember something from their past?

Just as she was thinking about it, she suddenly heard the voice of a waiter nearby, "Sir, are you okay?"

"Someone fainted, who was with him."

Cassie saw a crowd gathered in the direction of the restroom and hurried over, pushing through the crowd to see Joseph fainting on the ground.

"Joseph... Joseph..." Cassie called out to Joseph for a while, but seeing no response from him, she quickly called 911.

Soon, an ambulance arrived, and Cassie took Joseph to the hospital with Sophia.

Sophia looked worried. "Mom, what's going on with Joseph? Why did he suddenly faint?"

Cassie frowned. She suspected that Joseph might have been stimulated by those two people just now.

The former psychologist mentioned that the likelihood of a hypnotized person desiring to return to their previous state was only 0.1 percent; some did manage to do so but ended up looking foolish.

Just then, the emergency room door swung open, and the doctor emerged, commenting, "Has the patient been sleep-deprived for several days? I suspect that the lack of rest and staying up late have disrupted brain nerve function, resulting in fainting."

"Oh, I see."

Cassie felt embarrassed, thinking that Joseph had fainted due to being stimulated by past memories. Well, she was overthinking.

At this time, Lucas and Michael arrived. When Joseph was taken to the hospital, the emergency room staff had already contacted Lucas, and Michael happened to be in the area, so they both hurried over together.

But when Michael saw Cassie waiting outside, he was very angry. "Cassie, why are you so persistent? Do you think that just because Joseph and Megan's wedding was postponed, you can take advantage of the situation? I'm warning you, stay away from Joseph."

"Why are you so mean?" Sophia glared at Michael.

"It's an adult matter, you are a child. Stay out of it." Michael glared at Cassie angrily. There are no other men in the world. You insist on Joseph. Don't you feel ashamed as a homewrecker?"

“A homewrecker?" Cassie laughed. "Okay, everything I do is wrong anyway. I shouldn't have called 911, brought Joseph here. I should have just let Joseph die."

"You..."

"Oh, and when Joseph wakes up, remember to have him pay me back for the medical expenses. I was getting a divorce and leaving with nothing. I won't spend any money on him." Cassie said coldly, then left with Sophia.

Every time Cassie looked at Michael, she felt her own intelligence decrease.

"Don't think I don't know. You just want Joseph to settle things with you, and then you want to be with him; Joseph is going to marry Megan; stop dreaming."

Michael shouted at Cassie's back.

After cursing loudly, Michael took out his phone to call Megan.

Lucas snatched Michael's phone, scolding, "Can you give Joseph a break? Didn't you hear the doctor say he hasn't slept in days? Since Megan's situation, he hasn't had a decent rest."

"I'm having Megan come to take care of Joseph." Michael explained, "Joseph and Megan can't keep this standoff forever."

"Let's wait for Joseph to recover before bringing that up. Just the sight of Megan might give him a headache," Lucas sighed, "Why isn't Joseph picking up our calls? He's likely avoiding us because he doesn't want to hear us mention Megan. Let's give Joseph some space."

Michael felt frustrated and couldn't say anything more.

Joseph remained unconscious for a whole day before waking up.

When Joseph opened his eyes, only Lucas was sitting in the room.

“Joseph, please don't stay up late again. I don't want to attend your funeral for a sudden death," Lucas joked.
