Chapter 1203 He Left in a Hurry
"By the way," Laura suddenly turned around, looking a bit uneasy, "I might be seeing Benjamin a lot these days."
Michael was shocked. "Laura, are you nuts? After everything he did to you, you still want to see him? Can't you let him go? Are you a masochist?"
"I'm not as pathetic as you." Laura tried to stay calm, but his words made her angry.
"I've moved on, but you? You want to take my kid to see him? No way," Michael snapped. "Behave yourself and don't embarrass the Jude family or me. Remember, he slapped you last time. Wake up."
"I'm clear-headed. Stop thinking so poorly of me. I'm not like you. I'm seeing him to find out who rescued him. Cassie said the person who saved Benjamin and the one dealing with the Hernandez Group might be the same, and that person is Olivia."
"Olivia?" Michael was stunned. That name again.
"Yeah, the woman who pretended to be Joyce and stayed by your side three years ago. Thanks to you three idiots, Olivia escaped. Now she's back for revenge," Laura said bluntly.
Feeling insulted, Michael retorted, "How is that my fault? The DNA comparison showed the deceased was Joyce."
"Enough. You were the one shouting the loudest back then, blindly protecting anyone related to Megan." Laura took a deep breath. "Also, I'm just informing you, not asking for your permission."
"Did Cassie put you up to this?" Michael asked.
"It's not just Cassie, it's also about Isla," Laura interrupted. "If I don't deal with Isla, I'll never be able to face Nina, even in heaven. I won't let Isla rise like Olivia."
With that, she went upstairs.
Michael watched her, determined.
He felt lost and betrayed, thinking, 'Is she really getting close to Benjamin just to deal with Isla?'
Feeling uncomfortable, he followed her upstairs and, agitated, directly opened the bedroom door. "Laura, I need to talk to you."
The words got stuck in his throat.
In the bright bedroom, Laura was bending over, taking off her dress.
For the first time, he clearly saw her five-month pregnant figure.
She had taken good care of herself. Except for her larger belly, her legs were still straight and beautiful.
When Laura turned around and saw Michael suddenly barging in, she screamed. Her dress was already down to her feet, and trying to hide, she tripped and fell.
"Watch out!" Michael rushed over and caught her. Hesitant to hold her belly too tightly, he placed his arm across her chest.
The soft touch made Michael's mind go blank, and he felt something warm trickling from his nose.
"Michael." Laura looked at his hand on her chest, blushing with embarrassment. She wanted to crawl into a hole and hide. Turning around angrily, she saw Michael with a nosebleed and was stunned.
"Why are you having a nosebleed?" she asked.
Her turning around made it even clearer for Michael, and his nosebleed worsened.
In his thirty years, Michael had never been so embarrassed, especially in front of Laura.
"I have sinusitis. Got a problem with that?" Michael shouted, blushing, then placed her on the bed and covered her with a blanket. "Be careful, you're pregnant. A fall could be dangerous."
With that, he hurriedly left, looking like he was fleeing.
Laura watched him leave, slowly realizing what had happened.
Sinusitis?
Did Michael think she was stupid?
Could it be that he had a nosebleed because he was aroused by seeing her?
She had felt a bit shy, but now she found it quite amusing.
After changing into loose loungewear, Laura knocked on the door next door, "Michael, did you bleed to death?"
The door suddenly opened. Michael had changed into a mint green shirt, the fresh color making him look even more striking.
Although Laura thought the color was too bright for him, she had to admit it made him look like a young heartthrob.
But why did he change clothes, even his pants, and his hair was wet?
Her gaze turned teasing. "Did you take a shower in the middle of the day?"
Michael's face tensed up. "I got blood on my clothes, so I took a shower."
"I thought you got a nosebleed because you were aroused by my voluptuous figure and had to take a cold shower to calm down," Laura said with a teasing smile.
Michael's face froze.
He felt incredibly awkward. Did Laura have a camera in the bathroom?
She had guessed everything correctly.
Did he have no dignity left?
"Laura, how can you be so shameless?" Michael gritted his teeth. "You're pregnant, and you still talk about your voluptuous figure."
"If I'm not voluptuous, why did you get a nosebleed when you saw me?" Laura retorted.
"I told you, I have sinusitis," Michael stubbornly denied.
"Really?"
"Absolutely."
Laura said softly, "That's good. I was worried it was as I thought. Even if you used cold water, that was too quick."
Michael was silent.
What did she mean by too quick?
Was it what he thought it meant?
Michael was unsettled, feeling deeply hurt.
"You know what I'm like. Where do you think the child in your belly came from?" Michael shouted, unable to bear it any longer.
"I don't know. I was out of it that day." Laura laughed. "Don't get so worked up. I wasn't mocking you."
