Chapter 483

Upon hearing the news, a shadow fell across Nina's face. She made a move to rise, but Cassie's hand on her shoulder held her in place.

"Is your pride so easily swallowed?" Nina asked, casting a sideways glance at her friend.

"There's no need for haste," Cassie replied, her voice steady. "Let's enjoy our spa day to the end."

With a shake of her head, Cassie closed her eyes and settled back into the soothing warmth of the spa.

Twenty minutes later, Joyce Ray and her entourage of three emerged from the spa, their bodies draped in plush robes. They were met with the sight of Cassie and Nina, standing as an immovable barrier in their path.

"What are you playing at, Rosalind?" Joyce stammered, her face a tableau of fear. "Don't tell me you're here to torment me."

From behind Joyce, a tall, slender woman stepped forward. "Mrs. Hernandez," she began, her voice cool and collected, "there's no need to direct your anger at another woman. Men are known to wander, and sometimes, the fault lies within. It takes two to tango, after all."

Nina's gaze turned frosty. "Birds of a feather do indeed flock together."

Cassie couldn't help but laugh. "Joyce Ray," she began, her voice laced with amusement, "I'm here to reclaim the credit card you possess. Joseph and I are married, making his assets our shared property. I have every right to retrieve any money he's given you."

"Rosalind, I have no idea what you're talking about," Joyce protested, her voice tinged with desperation. "I earned my money on my own."

"By selling yourself?" Nina interjected, her voice dripping with scorn. "Joyce Ray, when did you stoop so low? I remember a time when you were honest and modest. You refused a diamond necklace from Megan Ray on your eighteenth birthday because it was too extravagant."

"Big sis Nina, I've always been this way," Joyce replied, her eyes welling up with tears.

Nina's eyes flashed with an unreadable emotion.

"Enough," Cassie cut in, her patience wearing thin. She pulled out her phone. "Hand it over now, or I'm calling the police. If they find my husband's credit card on you, I can report you for theft. Unless, of course, you can get Joseph here to vouch for you."

Faced with the imminent threat of police involvement, Joyce bit her lip and reluctantly produced a card. "Go ahead, call them. This card was given to me by Michael. He can testify to that."

Her friend looked puzzled. "Joyce Ray, didn't you just say it was Joseph who gave it to you?"

Joyce's face turned a deep shade of red, and she stammered, "The card Joseph gave me... it's at home..."

"Why did Joseph and Alex both give you their platinum cards, huh?" Nina quipped, a knowing smirk playing on her lips. "I hear rich guys like them love to share their women. Scandalous!"

Her friends looked at Joyce, their eyes now filled with scorn and contempt.

"Let's go, Sienna."

Sienna took Nina's hand and they left. Joyce, with Michael's credit card in her possession, was no longer their concern.

As they walked away, Nina cast a backward glance at Joyce. "Something's off about her," she murmured.

"Uh-huh, a viper in disguise..." Sienna muttered in agreement.

"No, it's not that," Nina said, her brow furrowed in thought. "Joyce is Megan's cousin; she used to frequent Zenith's Place during school days. I've seen her around a lot. The Joyce I knew was always straightforward, even a bit dull. I tested her—she didn't even know about the diamond necklace Megan didn't give her for her eighteenth birthday..."

Sienna's heart skipped a beat. "You mean we've got an impostor?"

Nina nodded. "Also, Joyce had this deep scar on her collarbone from when she crashed into a truck while biking home from school. It's been there forever, but when I saw her in her robe earlier, it was gone."

A chilling realization stopped Sienna in her tracks.

If this Joyce was an impostor, then where was the real one? And who was this imposter, and what was she after?

That's when it hit her—the first time she saw this Joyce, her eyes felt eerily familiar, and that identical viper-like demeanor brought someone to mind... Olivia Brooks.

A shiver ran down her spine.
