Chapter 1707 I Regret It
Elliott looked at Julia standing in the room.
She was dressed in an off-white loungewear, her delicate face devoid of makeup, making her look pale and slightly haggard. She had probably just woken up, her hair lazily draped over her shoulders, slightly messy.
In this state, she looked nothing like the strong businesswoman she usually was, as if she had shed her cold, hard armor, appearing soft and harmless.
His heart suddenly tightened.
Just moments ago, he had been quite irritable, but now he was filled with nothing but nervousness.
His mind was like a slideshow, constantly flashing with Alphonse and Derek's words, to the point where he forgot to speak.
"If you're here to argue, sorry, I don't have the energy. If you're here to satisfy your sexual needs, sorry, the doctor said I have an injury down there and can't have sex for a month, so I can't fulfill your rough pleasures."
Julia spoke calmly. In her view, Elliott coming to her voluntarily was definitely not a good thing.
If it were yesterday, she would have been very happy, but today she was resistant.
After all, no matter how strong a woman is, she still fears pain.
Her words were like a slap to Elliott's face, making his handsome face look awkward.
In her heart, had he already become such a selfish, harsh, and cold man?
"Goodbye."
Julia didn't want to hear any more unpleasant words from him. Just as she was about to close the door, he suddenly reached out and blocked it, "Have you eaten?"
Julia looked at him in surprise.
The moment their eyes met, Elliott tensed up again, and his lips involuntarily blurted out, "No matter what, you're in this state because of me. I have to take some responsibility."
After saying that, he wanted to tear his mouth apart.
What was he saying? That wasn't what he meant to express.
He wanted to apologize for going too far last night.
He wanted to ask if she was feeling better.
"No need, I've already eaten. You can go back." Julia felt no comfort from his sudden conscience.
From last night until now, he had waited until evening to come find her.
Yesterday, when she left like that, he hadn't worried, nor had he called. While in the hospital, Julia was completely confused about their relationship.
But to say she hated him, she didn't. She had forced him to marry her. She had brought this upon herself, and she couldn't blame anyone else.
"Then come back with me." Elliott suddenly grabbed her wrist.
"Go back for what? To continue being tormented by you?" Julia asked, "If you want to scold me, go ahead. I'm really scared. I regret it. I shouldn't have forced you."
"You regret it?"
Elliott's breathing grew heavier, and his gaze turned angry, "Just because of what I did to you last night, you regret it? Julia, is this how you treat relationships and marriage so casually? Didn't you say you liked me? Is this what you call liking?"
"Then what do you want me to do?"
Julia asked in confusion, "Because I like you, I have to endure when you scold me, hold back when you hurt me, and bear it when I cry out in pain? Is that how I prove my feelings for you? Is that how you'll believe I'm faithful and haven't betrayed our marriage?"
Elliott's thin lips moved slightly, but he was momentarily speechless.
After a long while, he finally said with difficulty, "No matter what, you forced me into this marriage. You have to take responsibility."
"Then what do you want me to do?" Julia asked bitterly.
What should she do?
Elliott felt a surge of sadness and frustration, "Just don't deceive me anymore, don't get entangled with other men, and remember that you're married."
The disappointment in Julia's eyes gradually spread, "You don't understand at all. I haven't deceived you, nor have I been entangled with other men. Even before we got married, I wasn't someone with a chaotic personal life. It's you who doesn't trust me. Even if I promise you, it won't matter."
After saying that, she felt her head getting heavier and didn't want to argue with him anymore.
"Go back. I need to rest."
She pushed away his hand blocking the door.
Not only did Elliott not leave, but he also took a step forward and walked in, "Since you won't go back, I'll stay here and sleep."
A deep sense of helplessness surged in Julia's heart. She pursed her thin lips and looked at him without saying a word.
"What, I can't come? Don't forget, you're my wife on the marriage certificate. Staying here is perfectly legitimate." Elliott walked straight in.
It was his first time at her place.
The house was simply decorated, not at all like a place where a woman lived. There were a bunch of documents and medicine on the coffee table, and a few takeout boxes, clearly from a delivery service.
Elliott walked over and picked up the takeout bag. It was from a five-star hotel in Whisperlyn City, but just because it was from a high-end hotel didn't mean it was necessarily sanitary.
"Is this your dinner?" Elliott asked coldly.
"Is there a problem?" Julia's delicate face was devoid of any warmth.
Elliott had nothing to say.
Julia ignored him, holding her documents, and turned to enter the innermost bedroom.
Since he wanted to come in, she couldn't stop him, but she could avoid him.
So after entering the room, she locked the door.
Hearing the sound of the lock, Elliott's handsome face darkened, "Julia, is this necessary?"
"I told you, I don't have the energy to deal with you, and I don't want any accidents," Julia's wary voice came through.
Elliott angrily kicked the door, "I won't touch you."
"I don't believe you."
Elliott helplessly lowered his head.
He turned and went back to the living room. He picked up the bag full of medicine, and inside was a medical record. Seeing the doctor's conclusion, he was stunned. He knew she was injured because he was too rough last night, but he didn't expect it required stitches to stop the bleeding. The record even mentioned she had a fever of 101 degrees Fahrenheit last night, meaning she went to the hospital with a fever, got stitches, and had an IV until late.
Elliott felt his blood rush to his head.
He tightly gripped the medical record, deeply realizing how excessive he had been last night.
He had seen her bleeding, so why hadn't he followed her?
Why had he become so cold?
So now she must really regret marrying him.
It seemed that as a man, he had always been quite selfish.
Thinking about her possibly asking for a divorce, Elliott suddenly realized he couldn't accept it.
He returned to the bedroom door and knocked, "Julia, open the door. Let's talk. I promise I won't touch you or be rough. What do you want to eat? I'll make it for you."
