Chapter 211

"In just one week, Charles swiftly cleaned house at Peace Group. All the executives who had opposed Cassie were stripped of their key positions.

As for Olivia Brooks, she was fired.

But she had no idea that everything had changed.

During her days in jail, she was beaten up by the other inmates, drenched in cold water, not a patch of her skin left untouched.

After seven or eight long days, Robert spent a fortune and pulled every string to get her released.

But she was carried out.

Seeing her bruised and swollen, Helen wrapped her in her arms and wept bitterly.

""My dear, what happened to you? Whoever did this, I swear I won't let them get away with it.""

""Mom, Dad, you have to make this right. It hurts so much..."" Olivia's pain was so intense that she could barely lift her head.
Andrew frowned at the sight of her swollen face and bruises—a spectacle he clearly found distasteful. This woman was becoming more and more an embarrassment.

""Honey, don't worry. Your dad will get justice for you,"" Robert assured, his voice filled with a simmering rage. He looked over to find Andrew motionless, his annoyance spilling over. ""Andrew, for heaven's sake, pick her up and take her to the hospital, now!""

""Fine, fine,"" Andrew replied reluctantly, steeling himself. When he approached, the stench from Olivia Brooks, who had not bathed since her confinement, was overwhelming, nearly making him retch.

He was kicking himself now. He should have never come today.

At the hospital.

Olivia Brooks, her eyes bloodshot, barked at the doctor, ""Get me the best medicine. I need to be better in three days; I have to get back to the office.""

""Sorry, there's no such miracle drug,"" the doctor responded bluntly.

""What are you good for, any of you? You're all useless! Mom, let's switch hospitals. I need to recover quickly so I can crush Cassie at the office,"" Olivia ranted, her swollen and furious features becoming even more grotesque.

Andrew suppressed his revulsion and said, ""You can't go back to the office; you've been fired.""

""What?"" Olivia's eyes widened in disbelief. ""She's lost it. How dare she fire me? Did she get Mr. Jonathan's approval?""

Robert rubbed his temples in exasperation. ""Jonathan's downstairs in the ward. He's been beaten so badly, he won't be leaving the hospital for weeks. Now, the company is firmly under Felix's control. Cassie has already placed him as the new general manager.""

Olivia was stunned, her mind struggling to catch up. She had only spent a few days locked up, and the world had turned upside down. ""That's impossible. Did she have someone beat Mr. Jonathan? Did you call the cops?""

""No,"" ground out Robert through clenched teeth, ""the ones who attacked him were a group of women scorned by their husbands. They said they couldn't stand his cheating and abuse. Jonathan's finished. All the higher-ups we've been bribing are too scared to cross Cassie now.""

""I can't believe this. What's happened to the law in this world?"" Olivia was seething with anger.

""Cassie has completely changed, and we fostered that change for nothing,"" Helen said bitterly. ""Robert, we must avenge Olivia, and we need to take back the Peace Group.""

She had only had a taste of adoration from the high society ladies for a short time and had no intention of reverting to her former status."
