"But..." Cassie shifted her tone. "There's someone I still want to teach a lesson to. If you don't let me vent, I might start doubting your feelings."
"Who?" Joseph asked.
"Athena," Cassie slowly uttered the name, a hint of anger in her voice.
Joseph was a bit surprised, then frowned. He questioned, "How did Athena offend you? Is it because I asked her to protect Megan...?"
"No," Cassie retorted, glaring at Joseph with hatred, "On the day we signed the divorce agreement, didn't you ask Athena to search for the marriage license on me? But Athena, in front of members of the Dragon, almost stripped me naked. If Nathaniel hadn't intervened, my pants would have been taken off by Athena. I won't forget this humiliation."
Joseph was very furious.
The situation that day was chaotic. Joseph only remembered leaving the room and later hearing Nathaniel arguing with Athena before he came back in. But he didn't see Cassie being undressed by anyone.
"What do you mean? You don't trust me," Cassie exclaimed, then immediately got out of Joseph's embrace in anger, "I have no grudge against Athena. I wouldn't frame a bodyguard. If you don't believe me, you can ask Nathaniel and the members of Dragon who were here that day. If I lied to you, I would have a miserable life."
"I won't allow you to make such malicious vows." Joseph changed his face, warning her.
"Because I am honest. I didn't lie, so I'm not afraid." After saying this, Cassie lost interest in the breakfast on the table.
"Joseph, is this your so-called love for me, unwilling to let go? What do you like about me, sleeping with me? You don't even have an ounce of trust in me, not even as much as a member of Dragon." Cassie started to get angry and scoffed.
"I trust you..." Joseph said. But deep down, he wasn't so sure either. Athena had previously been vigilant about Cassie with Megan. There was no guarantee that Cassie wasn't seeking revenge on her own.
But Cassie saw Joseph's hesitation, which only angered her more.
"Joseph, go check it out. I don't want to hear your excuses," Cassie called out and suddenly turned her face away, clenching her fists tightly, looking restrained. "I don't want you to coax me. Just find out the truth and bring Athena here."
After finishing speaking, Cassie pulled Joseph up from his chair and pushed him out.
Joseph was confused. ‘It isn’t long ago that everything is sweet, with Cassie even feeding him pizza with her mouth. How does it all turn into being kicked out in the blink of an eye?’ he thought.
Thinking about the reason for the argument, Joseph's eyes turned cold. He immediately called the two subordinates of Dragon who were involved that day to his office.
Not long after, Travis and Leroy appeared in Joseph's office, only to find Nathaniel there as well.
"Mr. Hernandez, did you call us here for urgent matters?" Travis asked respectfully.
"I called you all here today just to ask you one thing," Joseph icily said and tapped the desk with his hand, his calm voice making the three in the office uneasy, "You will answer me truthfully, right?"
"We do," Travis and Leroy immediately replied, "Mr. Hernandez, as members of Dragon, we are loyal to you. We will only follow your orders."
"Then what happened on the day I had Cassie sign the divorce papers?" Joseph suddenly stood up, his intimidating gaze making the two nervous. "What did Athena do?"
Travis and Leroy were both shocked, feeling uneasy and unsure.
Joseph was the god of Dragons, but Athena belonged to Wyatt. They had initially pretended not to see anything, as Cassie was just a woman Joseph dumped. ‘Now, why is he suddenly asking about it? Could the rumors be true? Is Joseph planning to reconcile with Cassie?’ They thought.
"Nathaniel, you speak first," Joseph turned to ask Nathaniel, "Did Athena undress Cassie at that time?"
