Chapter 779
In a short span of time, Joseph witnessed multiple men checking out Cassie. One young man even stopped to talk to her, asking for her phone number.
Under the sunlight, the man's innocent face showed shyness.
Cassie was caught off guard, about to politely decline when a low, husky voice interrupted, "Sweetheart, I apologize for being late."
When the boy saw Joseph's handsome and dignified face, he was surprised. He hadn't realized Cassie would be so young and already married with a child of that age.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were married. I apologize for the disruption," the boy said before hurrying off.
Cassie glared at Joseph, who had suddenly appeared in front of her, "Who is your darling? Stop the nonsense."
"Yeah, Uncle Joseph, how did Aunt Cassie become your wife?" Sophia asked curiously while eating cotton candy.
"I did that just so Cassie won’t be deceived by those immature boys." Joseph said with a smirk of disdain. "Cassie, you're not that young anymore. Do you even know what modesty is? You're deceiving young boys."
"I'm not that old, and I'm only twenty-five. That boy just now was at most twenty years old. How am I harming young boys?" Cassie retorted, "It’s normal to date younger boys now."
"Are you saying I am old?" Joseph asked angrily.
Cassie crossed her arms and taunted, "To me, you are. You're much older than me. While you were in school, I was busy swimming, trying to fertilize eggs."
Sophia, noticing Joseph's irritated expression, couldn't help but ask curiously, "What does fertilizing eggs mean? And why swimming?"
Joseph shot Cassie a stern look. "Cassie, mind your words. Remember, there's a child present."
Feeling impulsive, Cassie suddenly felt embarrassed. She gently told Sophia, "This is a scientific and biological topic. You may not understand it right now. You're still young, so focus on your studies, okay?"
"I understand, I'll study hard." Sophia nodded obediently.
Joseph fell silent at Sophia's quick deception. When did Cassie become so good at deceiving children?
"By the way, why did you come with Sophia instead of Liam?" Cassie suddenly looked at Joseph with disdain.
"What's wrong with me? Do you enjoy dating Liam so much?" Joseph was very angry at Cassie's attitude.
"Liam saved my life. What about you? You're Megan’s fiancé." Cassie sneered, "I'm afraid that if I get too close to you, people may take a picture of us and call me your mistress. After all, anything that causes even a slight harm to Megan, you would readily blame me."
Joseph felt uncomfortable with what was said. He knew that in the past, he had done many things to hurt Cassie for Megan's sake. "Megan and me won't get married."
"Are you kidding?" Cassie feigned ignorance. "Aren't you still planning the wedding? What if the police reveal at the ceremony that Megan is actually with another man...?"
"Cassie," Joseph suddenly spoke loudly, his voice booming.
Sophia was so scared that she dropped the cotton candy, burst into tears, and said, "Uncle Joseph is so scary."
Sophia, frightened, hid behind Cassie.
