"Law firm
Noah returned from outside after finishing lunch.
Passing by Joseph's office, he happened to see the secretary holding a coffee cup, about to go in.
""Didn't Mr. Hernandez go home for lunch?"" he called the secretary to ask.
""No, he's looking at the case files for the new cases we received,"" the secretary whispered. ""Mr. Hernandez has been taking on a lot of cases recently. Is he in need of money? He used to say he would take on a maximum of two cases per month, but now he takes on four. He's busy every day. He is even working overtime without rest.""
Noah chuckled. Joseph? In need of money?
His wealth could last for generations. He just didn't want to go back to an empty home, but he refused to admit it.
""Alright, you can go back to work."" He took the coffee and walked into the office.
""Just leave it there,"" Joseph said without looking up.
Noah sighed. ""Oh, today is the engagement day. A friend who attended the banquet told me that they displayed sweet photos of Cassie and Arthur on the big screen. People at the scene said Cassie did it herself. She's being treated very badly.""
She actually has sweet photos with Arthur?!
But she didn't click even a single picture with him!
Joseph raised his head. ""How many times do I have to say it? Don't mention her in front of me. Even if she's dead, it has nothing to do with me.""
Noah was speechless. He should have interrupted him earlier if he didn't want to hear that.
""Forget it then. Let me show you a video my friend sent me."" Noah opened his phone and happened to see Cassie dancing on a table.
Joseph frowned. He wanted to throw him out but paused upon hearing Cassie's loud voice on the phone.
That silly girl is quite arrogant, and she even knows how to argue back.
But did she really have a relationship with Arthur?
Did Arthur's previous voice messages still have any meaning?
Can a fool like Arthur even compare to him?
Damn it! What exactly happened between her and Arthur? Hugging? Kissing? Or something more?
Noah didn't notice his grim expression. ""Cassie is so domineering! I'm falling in love with her...""
Just as he finished speaking, a bone-chilling coldness engulfed him.
He met Joseph's gaze and said, ""I meant the kind of love fans have for idols.""
""Your pursuit of idols is so low,"" Joseph sneered. ""Don't call yourself my friend. I'm embarrassed.""
Tell me, would you die of jealousy?
After a pause, Noah coughed lightly and changed the subject.
""But the Brooks family is shameless. Cassie wouldn't resort to such despicable methods.""
