Chapter 1628 Derek Is So Good at Tempting Her
Laura sent a cold, indifferent smile emoji.
Derek shamelessly texted, [Then I'm coming up, baby.]
Laura: [Who agreed? Derek, can't you behave? You've had so much to drink, go to bed early.]
Derek: [No, I can't sleep. Just thinking about you sleeping right above me gets me excited.]
Laura: [Speechless.]
Alright, it seemed Derek was sleeping in the room below hers.
Derek: [Sweetie, let me come up, okay? I just want to hold you. I'm going on a business trip the day after tomorrow, and I'll be very busy when I get back. I don't know when I'll see you again.]
Laura was slightly stunned: [Why didn't you mention this before?]
Derek: [I was afraid you'd miss me too much, so I didn't dare to say.]
Laura felt speechless: [You're overthinking it. I wouldn't miss you that much, and I'm not that clingy.]
After sending that, she suddenly felt a bit reluctant.
Derek: [Alright, it's me who can't bear to leave you, really can't.]
Since he said that, what else could Laura say?
Seeing she wasn't responding, Derek texted again: [Then I'll come up quietly after midnight. Don't lock the door, go to sleep first, I'll just come up to see you.]
See, Derek was too good at tempting her.
Laura was no match for him.
She had no choice but to go to the door and undo the lock she had set.
When she got back to bed, she checked the time again; it was still over an hour until midnight.
Maeve was sleeping soundly, but she couldn't fall asleep at all.
So she sat up and played with her phone. As it got closer to midnight, she became more and more distracted, unable to focus on her phone.
She simply put down her phone and burrowed under the covers to sleep.
After half an hour with her eyes closed, she suddenly heard the door outside being gently opened.
Gotta say, the villa's door was of good quality. If she hadn't been awake, it would have been completely silent.
Derek came in, locked the door, and then quietly climbed into bed by the moonlight.
Laura's heart was pounding nervously. She closed her eyes and pretended to sleep, not moving a muscle.
She had shared a bed with him before, but now she was as nervous as if it were their first time sleeping together.
The corner of the blanket was lifted, and soon a hot body hugged her from behind.
Laura could even smell his unique scent, a mix of laundry detergent and a hint of masculine freshness, along with a faint smell of red wine on his breath.
Her heart had been beating fast, making it hard to breathe.
After holding her quietly for two minutes, Derek's kisses started from her ear and moved to the front.
Laura had Maeve to her right of her and a hot Derek to her left.
She couldn't take it anymore and kicked Derek hard, whispering a warning, "Didn't you say you would just hold me?"
"You stopped pretending to sleep," Derek chuckled softly.
Laura bit her lip and said weakly, "Be quiet, don't wake Maeve, okay?"
"I've been quiet all along. You're the one who spoke first," Derek retorted.
Laura angrily kicked him again, "Who made me have to speak?"
"You're the woman I love. It's normal to want to kiss you when I hold you," Derek sighed softly. "Unless I'm not interested in you at all, or there's something wrong with me."
Laura was once again left speechless, "I can't win an argument with you."
"I'm just stating the facts," Derek said, pinching her nose with a smile. "Don't worry, Maeve is sleeping soundly. Unless she's hungry, she won't wake up."
"You seem to know her well."
"Of course, when you were in training, I was the one who put Maeve to sleep. And the older she gets, the better she sleeps."
Derek's nose lightly brushed against Laura's neck, "You smell so good."
Laura held her breath and didn't make a sound, but her face was already red under the covers.
"This bed is quite big and comfortable," Derek's hands started to wander again, "Let me test its shock resistance."
At first, Laura didn't understand. After more than ten seconds, she realized and her mind went into chaos.
How could he be so shameless?
"Derek, you liar, you don't keep your word," she pushed him angrily and shyly.
"Sweetheart, it's your charm. For the first time, I want to be a big liar."
Derek wasn't in a hurry, he slowly blocked her red lips.
Laura had no choice but to remind him softly, "Be gentle, don't wake Maeve."
"Okay."
Laura didn't know what time she fell asleep, nor when Derek left the room.
When she woke up again, it was already daylight.
Maeve was crawling all over her with bright, shiny eyes.
"Maeve, good morning."
Laura picked up Maeve and sat up, noticing her pajamas were already on. If it weren't for the unusual feeling in her body, she would have thought Derek coming up last night was just a dream.
Wait, they didn't use any protection last night.
Looking at Maeve in her arms, she felt a bit panicked.
She was the type to get pregnant easily. After all, she got pregnant with Maeve from a single encounter with Michael.
One unplanned pregnancy was enough.
She didn't want a second time.
With this on her mind, her mood wasn't great.
After going downstairs and looking around, she didn't see Derek and complained, "Is Derek still not up? He's so lazy."
Rose glared at her, "What are you talking about? Derek has been up for a while. He said he was going for a walk and would bring back some breakfast."
"Okay." Laura felt guilty and also marveled at Derek's energy.
Last night, Derek had worn her out until she fell asleep, yet he still got up earlier than her.
A few minutes later, Derek came in, carrying several bags of breakfast, "Rose, I saw a breakfast shop at the community gate while walking, so I bought some. I don't know if it's good."
"That's enough, thank you," Rose quickly took the breakfast to the kitchen.
Derek picked up Maeve and then took a box of pills from his pocket and slipped it into Laura's pajama pocket.
She was stunned.
In a voice only the two of them could hear, he apologized, "These are pills to prevent pregnancy. Sorry, I didn't expect us to make love last night, so I didn't take any precautions. Take these, just this once. I'll be more careful in the future."
Laura's heart was touched.
She had been quite anxious when she woke up, but hearing his soothing words, her grievances immediately dissipated.
